Come on boys...at least tell the whole story why the 1.6 won last year...and the few years before that  :)

Bottom line was it lasted over faster cars that had issues! Those who brought and will continue to bring a 99...including Miatacage who put there best drivers in the 99 until it had problems...dont expect these faster E3(PTE)cars to break. The 1.6 car will not win on pace or  1 less fuel stop it wont have to make. But a good team and drivers will stay within striking distance in a 1.6 car for sure...and can win as Miatacage has shown.

Colin...the 99+ car fits in PTE and E3 barely...do your research and read the rules if you decide to go this route.

I wish it was as easy as the fastest car wins! Would sure make my job easy!

Lasting longer is kind of the definition of endurance racing.  Lap times have absolutely nothing to do with a 25 hour race outside of the first 3 or 4 hours.

We made zero deviation from our intended driver line-up.  We brought 6 drivers with the intention of running all 6 through both cars from day 1 back in March when we started prepping for the 25.

The original statement was that a 1.6 could not be competitive in an endurance race and I simply pointed out that the facts due not back up that statement.  Everyone on the internet is an expert, so sometimes it's necessary to introduce a little fact to the conversation.

The real reason the car won is because it was prepped properly, driven well (kept circulating and stayed out of trouble) and we had some luck on our side. :)

An uncompetitive car can win if the competitive cars all crash. :)

I'm no expert...and was just poking you Sean  :) There are a lot of 1.6 cars every year...and no one can match prep and pace you guys deliver in your car(at least to date!). But my guess is you will bring your 99 car again...and having worked out all the gremlins, will expect it to dominate! I would! You cant rest your outcome on luck...so I say start with an advantage when possible :D (I am crossing my fingers behind my back ;) ) Cant wait for this year!

Thanks Ron.... The expert comment wasn't directed at you, just a generalization of information posted on internet forums sometimes..... Like the original statement that a 1.6 can't be competitive in an endurance race.  Really.....   I guess I'm a little sensitive to it since I spend so much of my day re-doing things for people that did something someone they have never met and who's never seen the front of the pack told them to do on the internet in order to be fast. :)

Thanks for the kind words.... I have a great group of people around me that make us all look good.

Good luck at the 25 this year!
