I had a great time as well. I was going to post video of the 1st group 2 race that I had with Greg, Cameron and that cool new Mustang, however my video camera memory filled up due to a rookie mistake ( forgot to turn it off after morning practice ).
Thanks to everyone from SCCA SFR and all the coach's. I met some really cool people and enjoyed every minute of it . Look forward to seeing you all at the track in the future.

Ha. Looks like Dan and I were typing posts at the same time. Dan looked fast and racy in Dr. Dan's old camo car - when you could see him behind the camo. I'm told it blended well with the grass along the main straight.
Duane put on a helluva show with the Mustang. I was watching from the tower and everyone was watching that unfold.
I think I just learned a few better lines by watching Charlie's video. I need to get my video setup installed.

Thanks Alberto
I'm trying to edit some Video of Sunday Practice session. Once I figure it out I will post it here.

It was great seeing everyone at the school. I had a blast. I look forward to racing with you this year! Here's a brief video of the short course line I was teaching:
Thunderhill short course
Duane (Dewey) is barely visible in my mirror. I picked up the pace to keep him back there.
Enjoy!

I tried the later apex way into 8 but I felt that the early apex way was faster for me. I was a 1-2mph off of your exit speed in 15 doing it that way. By the s/f flag station you would have 5-6 mph on me though. Im sluggish. :/
I really liked the short course though, it made good practice for turns 1-6 because you would see them almost every minute.

Charlie,
Awesome first lap working through traffic! Those RX-7's can be hard to pass because they have more power. You were right to try him in T3, as that's the only place where you could gap him enough after to make it stick. But you just didn't have position to take him there. I think he was slowing you down in T8/T15 and that was giving you a lousy exit onto the straight. What you needed to do was either let yourself get closer to him in T8, or hold back on the back straight just enough that you could go through T8/T15 unimpeded. Then you would be closer in T2 to get alongside him into T3, or maybe even in T2. You only needed a half car length more. Sorry about your engine. Good job getting offline safely.
There wasn't clear consensus among the instructors on the best line through T8. I'm not sure either. Next time I will try your and Duane's 3rd gear line to see how I like it. I was getting 101 at the starter's stand, while you were 98, more like a 3mph difference. Were you lifting slightly through T15 at times? I can't tell. And can you post your fast lap from the weekend?
Duane, I had a blast running with you. Awesome 1st race! You had us jumping up and down and cheering in the tower. Greg Evans and that Mustang put up a good battle for you. Can you post your fast lap too?
Alberto, Dan, wish I had a chance to drive with you guys too. I'd love to see your videos!
Thanks!

Thanks Juan.. Wish I could post video of that race, I have none due to my rookie mistake. I left the camera on after practice and filled up the memory. Didn't realize until that night what happened..

I wasn't lifting in 15. My foot was glued to the floor hoping it would activate the nitrous window switch.
