Bottom line you'll need a muffler "Stix" 2's ok. Read the whole thread.
But as Jim asked in the 1st post, do you want to stay in 90db trim or jump back and forth ?

Sorry, didn't mean to confuse.
The "read the thread" was meant as some posted, that many in SFR including myself run a SD with a flange on the end and another muffler with a flange to connect the 2, since MRLS is the only track in our region that has a sound requirement.
Jims 1st quote indicates a 90db at some point, practice or test.
Wheel indicated normal sound for the race.
IMO, you should encounter both so be prepared.

SM will not be qualifying in the 90 db time slot and will be required to meet the 103 db sound limit.

The Runoffs will have the first Q session of the day at 90 db and the rest will be at 103. As of now, the races will all be at 103.

The 90 db limit only applies to qualifying days and only to certain time periods on those days. SM is not scheduled to qualify during those time periods, so will not be required to run at 90 db. All other qualifying sessions and all races will be run under the SCCA mandated 103 db. Although the final schedule has not been approved, I am fairly certain that the above will make it through to the final schedule.

That's interesting as that means that either we aren't using all the track time available (typically 9:00-9:30 and 4:30-5:00 are mandatory 90 or 92db windows in the pyramid scheme that I understood the club had contracted during M-Th) or SM isn't using those slots which means another group is getting the exclusive short end of the stick (likely SRF, which are the other group who trades with SM at a San Francisco weekend). Either way, good for us to let the bees buzz.
SD exhausts have not had any problems making 103db there uncorked.
So as it stands now the opinion is the SM's do not need to worry ? That would be great.

That is awesome Jim! Thanks to all for the hard work on that. Now if we can just get some fog, we can bring the muffler back into play (Ya'll better be prepared:)).
