POST NUMBER 3:
This forces me to ask the question, who got caught with their intake manifold insulated???
Sorry, I used the wrong word, the intake manifold was painted. There was an illegally painted intake manifold. Painted/insulated, same deal. The simple cure for this illegal paint/insulated intake would have been had the CRB rid themselves of the word weenie issue, many painted manifolds and multiple calls received about painted intake mainfolds thought processes and noted log books of illegal painted intake manifolds. End of subject and we would not have four pages on an illegal subject. The ONLY thing the CRB will do by allowing painted intake manifolds is open ANOTHER issue of unintended consequences/prohibited function. Next thing I'm going to do is insulate my entire intake track. YES, I know for fact that with my cone style air filter assembly the air temperature is reduced and when I insulate the remainder of the intrack please don't tell me cooler intake air is of no value. When someone wants to note my logbook or protest me, I'll make reference to president that has been set through this change of rule for the painted mainfold. I may even reference the 99 plus timming and the adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Any one see a trend with these ERRORS and OMISSION changes/rule changes because of illegal issues? Hey, I don't worry about Jim one bit, but I do worry about sliding rules more than a bit.
Jim Drago and Jim Wheeler along with all other CRB members, do the correct deal with this illegal painted intake manifold, do not allow anything be applied to the intake manifold as per the original IIDSYCDIYCan't (Edited for Johnny) rule. Let's follow the philosophy of folks learning how to read rules.......................
