Great job to Tyler Kicera!  Last lap pass on cliff brown i assume?

was watching the live streaming up until the last two laps when it went offline. very cool, about a 1/4 a lap behind the real time of race monitor for the most part.

Congrats to all, talented young crowd up front.

Curious if the new track surface/tire traction were an issue for two front enders to separately loose spots????

Looked like a little rain hit the track toward the end...maybe the cause of a last few changes. Congats to Dillon, Andrew and Selin! Sebastion is proving to be a force...sorry to see him get off near the end.

Tyler's in car live stream was pretty cool! It came in and out and i kept having to refresh but it worked! Nice drive to finish 4th Tyler!

Yes indeed Tyler did a great job considering his lifting comments from yesterday. I attempted his feed, not working, I must have had the off periods.

Congrats to Dillon, I think this is his first majors win? Either way, sincere congrats! Awesome! Lots of YOUNG GUNS! Also Andrew and Selin, both are always fast on their podium finishes as well. Closer to home, congrats to Tyler, 4th in that crowd is a great accomplishment!

On Buras car, the car has and issue we cant find, decided not to risk the car 1.5 seconds off the pace. He should have brought the 1.6 :) We should get it figured out and try again at Daytona :)

Like to hear some race reports, lots of people falling back etc. Offs? contact?

Thanks everyone! Consistency rewarded me with a good finish today (aka staying on track and out of the wet grass). I'm looking forward to a beautiful race day tomorrow.

FYI...The stream may end early given the length of the race versus my battery life so I apologize in advance if it ends early. For NJMP I will have dedicated power.

Congrats to the young guns. Great to see the new talent rising to the top. Old bullets like me are getting our asses handed to us. Fast guys all weekend were Dillon McHavern, Alex Bolanos, Andrew Carbonell and Sebastian Landy. Guys hanging on in the draft were myself, Cliff Brown, Forrest Landy, Selin Rollan, and Tyler Kicera. Keeping the race completely mistake free is what this weekend was all about and unfortunately I made unforced errors in both races and got spanked.

Had a fun race in today's race, desperately trying to hang on in the straights and closing in the turns, but I was having to make up too much time in a few turns, and once again I overcooked Oak Tree and lost the draft. I was able to work with Tyler for several laps, but we were still off the pace, and the front four were pulling away. Then Sebastian went off in his favorite turn, and Tyler and I had a race for 4th place with me draftig passed him on the line to win by a nose hair!!!.

huge congrats to Alex and Dillon for the wins, and to Andrew and Sebastian for fine drives. And especially to Sebastian for molesting my back bumper in both qualifying sessions, providing some of the best video you will see in a long time. Will post as soon as I can.

Anyone have the nitty gritty with what went wrong in the STL race??? A STL/SM on the trailer.

The STL race was a disaster. The driver of the #5 yellow Nissan 370Z almost cuased 4 accidents on the first lap before finally causing the crash in T3 on lap 2 which resulted in a multiple car pile-up and at least $100,000 worth of damage across multiple cars.

Firstly here is a guy with around 300HP running times slower than the fast Spec Miatas with less than HALF the horsepower. At the start we pleaded with the marshalls to move him up with the other guys and get him ahead of the Spec Miatas, which they fortunately did.

However a very late green flag kept the entire field bunched through T1, and his driving skills or lack thereof became very apparent. After a horrid run out of T6 he blasted by five cars towards the uphill esses, then braked at the bottom of the esses, moving over on Phelps in the red MX-5 and almost running him off the track.

On the exit of Southbend he got it sideways and we all had to take more evasive action. Then he drove off at Oaktree, blasted by everyone and then parked it at the bottom of Hogpen, almost taking Scornivacchi’s Mustang out there. He blasted by us all on the straight, then overslowed T1, ran around the outside, applied brakes at T2 ??? and then T-boned Scornivacchi in T3. This accident totaled Scronivacchis Mustang, as well as Connor Flynn’s MX-5, took out Cliff Brown, Joseph Strong, Andrew Charbonneau’s Mustang and several more. But of course the 370Z was able to continue and cause more havoc with us later in the race after we went green.

And then, after the race, he laughed about it, and refused to believe that he had anything to do with it. Despite many talking to him about it I still believe he thinks it had nothing to do with him. I will post the video that I supplied to the officials as part of my witness statement. You be the judge.

This STL story seems to be a trend...

Sad to see so many cars get damaged.  Again.

I hope the video went with paper, and there were others willing to come forward.

Word is the only penalty was no points for that race. Did not get any points on his license and no probation.

I am the last one to say anything bad about anyone but the yellow Z was a threat to everyone, really bad, I am not sure how he received a race license. He almost took Dillon and I out the session before, along with another competitor. I hated to hear about the big one in STL.

Congrats to D Mac, S Landy, Andrew, Sellin, Alex....great drives.

Thanks BSI and East Street for the support.

The STL thing is definitly a reoccurring theme...  After the carnage at Atlanta and now this event.  Part of it is mixed class racing vs. in class racing.  I think alot of us are very comfortable racing each other door to door, most other classes do not have that type of racing and when you introduce our racing style with theirs it can be disasterous unfortunatly.  It looked like it was a great field for SM Congrats to those who had great weekends.  For me I was just excited to be along for the ride with Tyler, and then come to find out it was East Street Power and it was even more fun!!!!

To bad the feed did not work on Sunday!  I love the way the younger guys can really use technology and think outside the box with ideas like a live feed,  I would have never thought of something so cool.  I can see it now  Danny Block Steyn will have his own live feed very soon, we will call him an early adopter :)

I am truly thankful for the evasive action of my fellow SM-STL drivers who risked their cars and safety to insure that I would walk away. Danny explained it pretty well but after being impacted in the B-pillar-rear quarter panel I did a 180. Coming to a stop at the exit of 3 into oncoming traffic was not a good situation. The field was stacked up because of this incompetent individual driving the 370Z. Most missed me but Conner is his MX5 didn't and being hit at approx. 70mph is not fun.

This was not a racing incident. It was caused by someone that has no business being on the track if he can't respect the lives of the rest of us. Lacking talent and being 5 to 6 secs behind the pace of the lead T3 cars is fine but have some damn sense. I will have Phelps video posted as soon as I get it. Danny was a god send in the paddock as I was over the top with anger. Then the guy has the belligerence to admit no wrong doing and claim I gave him no racing room. In the SM world I gave him 4 miles.

The SOM after having witness statements and multiple videos which will be posted here determined that a reprimand will go in his file and the lost his points for that race. Are u F kidding me. Somebody could have been killed and this isn't funny. My son is getting his license this summer and I am really debating whether he should race in an organization that deals with Driver conduct and competitor safety in this way.

Not sure what is next but this isn't over... My car is done but I walked away because of the evasive action of guys I trust.

Stay Tuned  Mike Scornavacchi
