25.4mm restrictor and 3250 pounds (without driver). That will ensure that the roughly $20 million that existing competitors have invested in cars and spares is not made obsolete because of the next great idea.
Those that have a woody about running the NC cars need not wait (or weight). T4 awaits you and you can have your equalization debates with folks that have Mustangs, Honda's and others. In this age of political correctness and diversity, a mixed class of competitive cars is a better idea anyway. T4!
Nope.. evolve or become extinct. I am caging my NC car as we speak to catch up with Collins and all the MX5 teams
It's time

The word according to Moses...
"THEY ARE COMING, LIKE IT OR NOT"...
... so let it be done... so let it be so.
Thank you for your input...

Official SCCA input on this subject was requested a year or two ago. Does anyone know if input will be requested again?

Yes. It was interesting running Daytona against a 220hp 3025 pound car in a 160hp 2700lb car. We were only in impound for 30 hours at the runoffs this year. It's almost like SM except all we did was sit around and do nothing but wait.

It was and still is a bad idea. The cars don't have nearly the same DNA that the NAs and NBs do. Also the weight disparity between the 1.6 and NC was not contemplated when the rules for the NA's cages were written. Anti lock brakes vs none. Also you are talking about raising the speed of the cars as well. If you want to decrease the safety of the class, congratulations you are on the right path.
I would much rather go race the NDs, now there is a spec class.

With all the current parity.. Figured it would be a pleasant distraction to see how we can integrate all cars for 2018. It's time to bring them in! How about we stew on this for awhile..
SM as of 1/1/18
1990-1993 Miata engine full IT Engine build, no other changes 2300 lbs No other changes
1994/1997 Miata engine 9.6-9.75:1 compression 2350 lbs no other changes
1999/2000 no changes other than no restrictor plate 2400 lbs
01/05 no changes other than no restrictor plate 2425 lbs
06/15 SM5 rules with say 38-42 mm restrictor, 2650 lbs
I'm sending in a letter to the SMAC any way.. so lets get a group opinion
I'm not sure if this is a joke or not but if not add the ND car too. On second thought forget it! We can't even get parity with the cars we have now. How about this for 2018
1999/2000 no changes other than no restrictor plate 2400 lbs
01/05 no changes other than no restrictor plate 2425 lbs
06/15 SM5 rules with say 38-42 mm restrictor, 2650 lbs
ND cars!!
