Damn I'm not charging enough!

FYI.  All of my built Miata E Production engines 1.8 and 2.0 are well over 200hp to the wheels on my dynojet and they don't cost 20k.  They also last a whole season of racing now that the MZR engines have alternate rods.

Well over 200 HP at the rear wheels? So you are talking about 240ish (or more) at the crank?  No wonder all the older Eprod cars are just chopped liver field fillers. I applaud your ability to build a motor.

So the problem these days is that it takes a huge full prep effort to keep up and then your just running a time bomb engine.  I've seen plenty of full prep cars go fast, it just costs more and lasts shorter.  This is why limited prep was invented.

BTW, the Miata's in EP are the small engine cars, the big more modern 6 cylinders are well over 250hp to the wheels, I've heard closer to 300 in some cases.

And in a sentence you have summed up why my nice, ex GT3 Porsche D prod car is a hanger queen, and why my 3L tube chassis GT2 car just runs historics.

You also summed up one of the reasons classes like SM and SRF are popular.

I still applaud your motors. If I ran rice instead of wine and cheese and PBR, I'd be running one of yours.

1 Miatacage by gas head motor works
2 Lucas custom
3,4 and 5 Mitacage by Chris Haldeman

Did have the Trans tunnel notch panel so we could move the seat more towards the tunnel, buy the kit from Drago.

I have talked to Chris, and he seems like the real deal. Does your post mean he has built three cars for you?

Thx,

Frankly, I'm a little surprised no one has picked up on the Outlaw tag. Here's more about the original Outlaw Porsche 356s.

"...what their friends dubbed "outlaw" 356s, because they were shunned by the Porsche crowd and forced to park outside during events."

Look into the GM LE5 2.4L Ecotec swap.  Can be done for about $2500 not counting labor if you don't need power steering or air conditioning.
