Well, a Majors event finally goes to Roebling Road again this weekend! It should be a fun pre-4th of July weekend with many fast drivers already entered. Lets get the smack talk going! John Davison and Danny Steyn are both entered, so this thread should not disappoint  :burst: .

Spec Miata is Group 2

Friday Test Day | Saturday Q1 & Race 1 | Sunday Q2 & Race 2

Big weekend planned. Band on Sat night with free dinner plus good selection of real liquid refreshments. No keg stuff.

Bring the kids. Hospitality tent with free stuff for kids, ice cream & cold water for all. The great book exchange returns so bring old books even shop manuals.

Trophies will be the race car photos on plaque from Clark McInnis. Always great action shots. Trophies worth displaying. Trophies for both days.

Please let the registrar know if you plan to join us for supper. Food must be ordered. Email was sent to all yesterday.

Looking forward to great SM races from some of the best drivers in SCCA.

It took a lot of effort to get Majors (National) racing back to Roebling Road and the 208 entries so far tell us it was worth every bit of the work. Special mention to Area 3 Director Lee Hill who worked with me to put all this together. He'll be there racing his SRF3. Be sure to thank him. Of course, a lot of other volunteers will be there making it happen.

And thanks to all of you for joining us. You guys are the best.

First off, if you think for one second that John Davison has even a chance at beating The Great One this weekend ... then you are delusional.  After Steyn's win he had at Watkins Glen ... he is by far THE BEST DAMN SPEC MIATA DRIVER EVER 2.0, PERIOD.   I may have contributed some to his most recent success, giving him the motivation to prove me wrong, and I'll be damned, he sure came through.  He showed persistence by entering every majors race possible which was increasing his chances of victory.  Being the brilliant mind that he is, he entered a race that only had one other driver that was in the top 20 in Super Tour points, which further increased his chances.  Steyn changed something up this year, that left many wondering, "Danny, why aren't you uploading any Spec Miata videos from this year?".  It is now making sense to all of us.  He was keeping his videos secret so it gave none of his competitors the opportunity to learn from his race craft and strategy.  It is absolutely fascinating to see six months of commitment to this strategy.  Finally, this win secures him his spot back on the Rossini A-Team, which is something for all of the B-Team drivers to aspire to.  It is possible for all of you to make it if you follow the calculated steps of the Great Danny Steyn.

On the other hand, you have John Davison.  Davison just can't seem to find the top step of the podium, which is to be expected.  You see, Davison does not make the best use of his time like The Great One, who puts in 20-30 hours of iRacing practice the week of the event on top of studying YouTube videos and Traqmate data for hours on end. Davison needs to spend less time during the week going to work and studying for the CPA exams, and needs to focus more on what it takes to be at the top level of amateur sports car driving.  Steyn devoted his whole year to stop the clock and finally win again and that dedication should be rewarded.  If Davison wants to be at the same level one day, he needs to put away the CPA note pad, pull out a new one, and start taking some notes from Danny.

First, thank you for aiming everything at Danny :)

Second, Danny did come through, I have to admit I did not think it would happen this year. And whether Danny wants to admit it or not, it was clear in his post race interview that the dam counter was very much in his mind! It is hard enough to win without someone screwing with you daily :)

If you beat Danny this weekend, you should hang it up and you can start a new clock :)

Lastly, Danny is nuts!!  The Spints, Watkins and Roebling in three consecutive weekends! NO WAY! That is a lot of racing!

Damn sure bet, I'd be the most mature to finish 36th.

Was there with friend in IIRC 2009 to pick up a Spec Miata from OPM and went on to RRR for the weekend and a question at RRR was, whose the new name fast Yankee in the yellow car. It weren't me, it were my friend.

Very deep field assembled for this weekend's Spec Miata race, including the top 3 in the Southeast Conference Majors Points Race, Selin Rollan, MIchael Carter and Alex Bolanos

Bolanos who sits 3rd in points has probably the best chance of clinching the title, as he has 3 x 1st place finishes and 3 x 2nd place finishes out of 6 races this season, and only sits 3rd due to not attending the NOLA and Road Atlanta events. And of course there is the ringer Tom Fowler who is coming out to play on his favorite track

If Danny would have been driving a NA 1.8 he would of stopped the clock a long time ago.      :rotfl:
