That was actually his secretary's job ... but he had to let her go because he hasn't been able to add anything to that or his website in quite a while.  She is doing fine though.  I think Kicera hired her

P$ and Buras were quick - conditions were HOT and HUMID - let me say that again HOT and HUMID. Why the hell do we race July 4th weekend at Roebling?

 

Sandbaggers Rollan, Carter and Fowler come out to play tomorrow.

We race July 4th because we are mean and tough in the SEDiv. And the 42 entries in the SM group and the 247 total for the event prove it. Seriously, what a race we are going to have this weekend. Lot's of extras, dinner, entertainment, things for the kids, spectators and lot's of refreshments for the Sat post race analysis and what I could have done if only session.

Honestly, test day was a competition of who can into the sand traps the furthest. charbonneau definitely won that battle as he was sitting on the berm in T1.

P$ was the fastest all day along with buras, danny and I were both average.

P$ be trying to lie about how fast his times are but he is way too cute and nice to even sound believable. Nice try preston!

That would have been me and Danny. But! During the race ... Danny and selin pulled away. But that's because they scared the shit out of lapped car who spun in front of us. That's why they got top 2, cause all of us went off in turn 3. That is my story and I'm sticking to it!

Great Race 1 in the books yesterday at Roebling Road.

 

At the start, Preston pushed Selin ahead of me, and I slotted in between Selin and Preston. Buras was unable to get to Preston's bumper and help, and Selin and I checked out a little each lap down the main straight. Halfway through the race, we passed a lapper and while eh was trying to stay our of our way, he dropped 2 wheels in the grass and spun in front of the entire pack of chasers. The fact that no one hit him is a tribute to the quick reflexes and skills at the front of this class.

 

That gave Selin and I a decent buffer and the last half of the race was a chess match trying to figure out where I had the advantage over Selin. I thought I could make the pass on the last lap in the run to the line, but in the execution as he pulled to the right to defend I misjudged the pass and briefly got his bumper, boosting his run and retarding my own. Selin had me by 54/1,000ths at the line.

 

Congrats to Mike Rossini for the podium lockout. And a huge congrats to Preston on his first Majors podium, the first of many I am sure. Before the spinning incident, Fowler was showing his class and ran the fastest lap of the day in a rental car that didn't quite have the mojo of the cars around him. 

 

Michael Carter started dead last after royally screwing up his qually session, but was able to move forward from 40th and finish 5th, behind Bolanos

 

So the 3 championship contenders, Rollan, Bolanos, and Carter finished 1st, 4th and 5th respectively. Not sure how the points play out but it means that today's final race of the season will settle the SE Majors Conference Spec Miata championship. I suspect that Carter has a lot to prove today.

I dislike Roebling. Pretty fun track to drive on ... not a fun track to race on.  You can really only pass on the front straight and going in to T1, which means you have to get out of Turn 7 really good. I was on the 4th heat cycle tires for the second race and it was the most frustrating race I have ever been in. Every time I got back to power in Turn 7 I would be crossed arms drifting so I couldn't do anything and had nothing for the guys that were on stickers or 1 heat cycles.  I guess I can't blame them for putting on new tires ... but oh well.
