I'm almost glad I've had teething issues with the new car all season. I can just sneak on in in the LCQ and when I finish top 30 the hard charger is a sure bet. lol. 

I'm bummed Danica didn't let me in on any bets. He knows I have a gambling problem. 

I'm counting on the red mist going into turn 1 taking out a whole gaggle of cars somewhere between 12th-25th. That's gotta be the kill zone as the field checks up for 1 and 2. 

I want to make a bold prediction though. I think someone outside the top 10 at the start will win. Any takers?

 

There is still time for you to get in on bets nick. But, maybe I didn't let you yet because you shaved off your glorious mullet that you were growing for the runoffs. You are a disappointment for that.

 

Top 10 is a bold pick but it all depends on where Holton and Stearns start hehe. But, in all seriousness. I think you have to be inside the top 6 in qual (maybe top 8) to have a shot at winning. Because if there is a wreck on the start, it will all happen about the 4th - 5th row back which will create a gap for the top 6 or so (granted there isn't a caution thrown).

I think you gotta take out the drinking factor for Drago. That will crush a non binge drinker.

 

I think the loser (slowest qualifier) should have to run graphics/wrap/windsheild banner, whatever of the others choosing for 2018.  Installed by next Major race and run for a calendar year. But if the Loser (slower qualifier) finishes the race ahead of the faster qualifier it is then a wash, no blood.  This will extend the drama. 

 

My money is on Danica. Purely due to his entertainment value.

We are pleased to announce that every Spec Miata racer registering for the SCCA National Championship Runoffs® will receive Hoosier Tires! This is made possible by the great partnership between Hoosier Racing Tires and SCCA. This is the fifth-consecutive year that SM drivers will receive tires at the Runoffs!

Everyone currently entered for Spec Miata at the 2017 Runoffs (there are 88 of you) will receive THREE free Hoosier SM7 tires. As a bonus, the first 15 drivers that registered for the event will receive a FOURTH free tire to complete the set.

These tires will be available for pickup through Hoosier Tire Midwest at IMS after the timesheet from Qualifying 1 is released on Monday, Sept. 25. Tires will not be distributed until you have turned a wheel in an official session, beginning with Monday’s qualifying.

You must pick up your tires from Hoosier Tire Midwest at IMS by the close of business on Friday, Sept. 29.

Please note that each tire will be assessed a $15 delivery fee, which is to be paid by the recipient directly to Hoosier Tire Midwest. This was the most convenient and economical means to deliver the tires to all everyone. Mounting and balancing charges also apply.

The tires for the Runoffs come from the pool of tires not claimed through the SM contingency program throughout the year.
