I had a fantastic weekend at RA and am finally getting the hang of that track. All was awesome except race 2 which was a bit of a shit show. In a seemingly minor incident, someone hit me from behind on the opening lap in turn 5 and jammed my right wrist on the steering wheel. The SCCA doc at the track thinks it is broken Getting an xray today. I tried to finish the race but it was hard to shift. I think I was hanging in around 17th position with a couple laps to go and was spun from behind in turn 6 after getting a little loose. I decided to call it a day and come in. Car is fine, just some bodily harm. So annoying as it was not a major incident that caused it. Must have been just the wrong angle of my wrist on the steering wheel.

Amy, was so sorry to see the sling. It'd be one of those things, $hit happens, or it is what it is. Hopefully recovery is quick. You have become very quick at Road America.

Amy, yup I know how frustrating this can be, but as I said to you there - YOU WERE HAULING THE MAIL GIRL. Damn straight, took me two laps to get to your bumper on test day and another to get past you. Very impressive, so keep your head high, heal quickly and look forward to racing with you soon.

Now that the Miata prep party has ended (OPM, X-Factor and Panic were all here this morning) I have a few minutes to think.
As much as I hate Road America, Ann loved it. Especially the June Sprints. She would get a photo pass and take 1000 pictures from all those special spots. She loved meeting all the people she only got to know over the phone. And everybody knew her by the sound of her voice. As I wandered the paddock handing out memorial stickers this weekend, everyone was happy to put the sticker on their car. Most did it as soon as I handed them the sticker. At Sunday podium celebration, all 3 drivers wore one of Ann's stickers. When Jim dedicated the win to her, I was glad to be wearing sun glasses. Thank you Jim. The hugs from the other drivers and crew guys made this the June Sprints I will remember for a long time.
Thank You to all who honored her memory.

Thank you Danny. It was such a stupid little incident and so annoying. My wrist is broken, so I can't kick all your butts at the Glen. Next time for sure!

Since the results don't show car year I'm going to stir the pot and ask what was the highest finishing NA car?

That depends on where the break is. I raced with a bruised rib at hallett two weeks ago. 4 ribs up from the bottom, right at my side (basically even with my elbow). No big deal...like you say, never noticed it except maybe getting out.
OTOH, I broke one under my shoulder blade one time. No f*cking way I could have raced with that one. No way I could even get into the car. Heck, I practically couldn't breath---I sure didn't want to.

Frank Tadaro your argument that the old guys need help in SM is losing its validity

while on my cruise, it was not that big of a deal before. i moved funny and it was really really bothering me. Went to infirmary and of course they could do nothing but pain meds. I sneezed later that day.. Honestly the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. mine was lower left side

Really can't believe what I have been missing out on the past few years, the June Sprints are absolutely awesome! Hopefully the first of many more to come!
Would have been a great race to watch, unfortunately my Polaroid cube went dead on lap one, Preston was on charging detail
I was told to charge the cube 45 minutes before our race started.

Dave - thanks to you and Ann for everything you have done to make our stupid little class so much better. I cannot imagine a life without my wife Kim by my side so cannot for a second imagine what you are going through. Kim and I just sat and watched the "missing man parade" for Ann at Summit point this weekend with tears streaming down our cheeks. Our heart goes out to you - we love you and we will always be there for you. Thanks again for all you do for our class.

Piker's, 3 right ribs, 2 left ribs and a shoulder blade simo as the Kart flipped. When all I viewed was sky, I thought this wouldn't end well. Even small open wheels bad $hit happens. We wouldn't even talk about that healing process, a sling and lots of pain killers.

Parity HAS been achieved. I don't think ANY NAs were entered ergo a level playing field by default.

The wrist report: 2nd opinion was that it is NOT broken. (not sure why this is so difficult to figure out, but I guess the bones are very small in there). Going to the wrist specialist orthopedist today and hoping he can figure it out. It does feel MUCH better today so fingers crossed for a sprain. A slight chance of the Glen this weekend

There was at least one NA, a white car with black fender. Started last both days IIRC

Other than the Glen has its own history of biting its participants, I say, screw the doctors, if you can wheel the car do it.
