Or a contract, with reasonable out-clause for us and limited price increases. Novel I know, but theoretically possible.

Id be interested in a breakdown of what the survey results were and how it's interpreted.

Seems like something is getting lost in translation between the masses and the decision makers. Unfortunately it's sending me back to the drawing board for this years schedule.

Potenza RE71 205/50/15 $134.00 Grip is like a 8-10 HC Hoosier

The results from using this tire would be exactly the same, just 2 seconds slower per lap. They are very close from start of life to end.


I like the SM7, but the cost is hurting the class. Less people racing regional races, means less moving over to the majors and Super Tour


As much as I hate to say it - I would shave them. If they are fresh but low tread they are faster right before the end. If there was a way to police it then it could work. I have considered shaving for the other series I run.

Was hopeful for a longer term tire solution for this year.  Looks like we'll have to wait until 2021.  There was at least 1 event last season where someone posted about a gentleman's agreement to use 1 set for a weekend or a portion of a weekend.  Maybe we'll be able to do something like that at an event or two in this part of the country this upcoming season.

If you could get the top ten to agree. I would agree.  But you know how that goes... as soon as one guy doesn't cooperate.. the entire thing breaks down

Maybe the smac will just support the notion of harder closer racing and inact a tire limiting program.
