Sounds like you should come race Global Cup....  Mazda Raceway Laguna, Watkins, Road America, Canadian Tire, VIR, Road Atlanta....  I think next year we will get a 7th event... Probably Sebring.....

I was waiting until all the teething pain of the new cars is over.  Also some really creative types are going to figure out some of the cheats by the seasons end.

can we write into the rules that any competitor who has contact with another competitor for the sole purposes of a position change must forfeit his pay out. If we are going to write the rules then lets keep it to clean racing no moving people out of the way for position.

Legislating intent?  That will go well.  Isn't there already a process in place for DQs and penalties?

Unlike Kyle, I much prefer chasing a championship to winning a prestigious event. Don't get me wrong, I am proud of my June Sprints and ARRC wins, but I covet a championship more because to win a championship you have to be consistent. You can overcome a bad luck situation during a championship, but in a single runoffs style event, hit bad luck and you are done.

I am very much in favor of a more prestigious points series. I have always disliked the national points title award as it can be won by winning and less competitive and less well attended events. So I am in favor of the points override based on how many cars you beat, reinforcing that a win at a 60 car race is more valuable than a win at a 12 car race.

It MUST be held at bucket list tracks. As we have seen, car counts are always better at the bucket list tracks.

I agree, I have won the Runoffs twice and points title twice. The points titles were always an after thought more than a goal. I dont look at them nearly the same as the Runoffs wins. A "real" season long championship like we outlined above would be quite an accomplishment for the eventual winner IMO. I dont think you would have to worry about car counts at the events we put up as examples as there is always plenty of competition at those tracks. It would be nice if we got to the point where the Runoffs was like Daytona in Nascar or Indy 500 in Indy car. Right now, the runoffs is the only race that really matters to me.

Thread died again.  So how do you get this off the ground?

My suggestion is you invite the 30 drivers you know would attend without fail to start the ball rolling.  The list would be easy to put together, pull the top 15 at the SE majors and the top 15 from the NE majors probably some overlap and boom you have the list.  Ask them what tracks they want to race and how many events they would commit to and that becomes year 1.  Not to say others can't attend but If we leave this up to the entire internet nothing will get done.  I would hurry as many of these people are probably eyeing the MX-5 cup series as their alternative and once they have crossed that line it will be a while until  you get them back.
