I really look forward to watching the B-spec race at NJMP. I don't even know what to expect. Will be good weather, so hopefully it will be a good representation of the cars as the rules currently stand.
Who else will be there? Watch the Pro-IT race too while you're there!

I like Kimbo...lol
But all in all we need to stay on the topic and main point of this discussion. Our car was called an illegal car by Matt because we we were fastest in practice, qualifying and won the race from 5 spots down with a 3 second lead. The video is there to prove we just flat out drove the competition and to win from 5 spots down. On the pass for the lead Todd should have gone to the outside thus forcing me into the concrete patch causing me to slip on exit and him to get traction on the outside. Instead we did it and got a massive grip and speed on exit.

Its easy to blame the winning car and call it illegal. If you thought the car was so illegal then protest it, she sat for 40 min in tech with everyone going over the entire car. Even removing the intake only to get a clean bill of health.

You think I would show up to a grand Am event with an illegal car? Ask cheating Chip why he did not pass tech and forgot to put in the restrictor plate.

Lets stay on the topic Matt if you can. You have called me out on everything only to have me answer, you know where we are just show up.
Again stay focused stay on the topic and the video. You call someone a cheater then back it up.

and... If Mr. Francis is cheating as he's been twice accused why didn't anyone filed a protest post race?

I'm really curious, just how does one exploit a horsepower advantage in standing water?
and... If Mr. Francis is cheating as he's been twice accused why didn't anyone filed a protest post race?
Standing water was only at the corners/brake zones, straights (homestead is 4 drag strips with some U turns) had grip.
As far as protests/tech, the race was a "Sportsman Showcase" which translates to "anyone can come/this is just for fun/lets test the relative performance of the cars/we don't really have a way to tech these things yet/lets just market this thing and put on a show"

Sorry Alex, yes there is a way to protest. Don’t be putting down Grand Am just because you did not race there. All the manufactures, racing organizations and media point out this is the racing of the future. You can file a protest but you must put the money down as a bond and if you are found wrong and there is nothing wrong with the car you lose your money. The point again is we were at a Pro Event, won the event and car held in impound. if you felt the car was illegal put the money down and protest. The fact that they did not do that was they knew the car was stock just like it came from the dealer except for the filter, exhaust and Joe Gibbs oil and if they did protest and nothing was wrong they would be the laughing stock of Grand Am and not have an excuse to have lost. We were all slipping down the track, the point was who could find the best grip. I feel we had an advantage since we have been practicing with the car from the beginning of the year and raced the weekend before same track same conditions. We proved we knew the track and car all weekend long which took us to get the win.

I apologize in advance for clogging your self promoting propaganda thread with facts, from the Grand AM Sportsman Showcase rules at http://204.12.108.2/...2012 SS-GCR.pdf:
"Anyone can come"
The Showcase is intended to provide a relatively low-cost way to enter the sport of road racing by providing events where non-professionals can race showroom stock automobiles (“SSâ€), with limited modifications, focusing on victory for that race and not a season long championship.
"This is just for fun":
4.1. Driver. Driver awards will be on a per Event basis as specified on GRAND-AM.com. Driver championship points will not be awarded in the Showcase.
4.2. Manufacturers. Manufacturers championship points will be not be awarded in the Showcase.
4.3. Team. Team championship points will not be awarded in the Showcase.
"We don't really have a way to tech these things yet"
No mention of protest procedures... just bring your shop manual!
1.7 Compliance Verification. A Shop/Service Manual or its equivalent for the specific make, model, and year of automobile is required to be in the possession of each entrant. The manual is intended to aid in identifying parts and the configuration of the car.
The point again is we were at a Pro Event, won the event and car held in impound. if you felt the car was illegal put the money down and protest.
No, again from the event rules... You did read these didn't you?

2.1. General. The Showcase is for non-professional drivers only. To compete as a driver in the Showcase you must obtain a GRAND-AM Membership in the capacity of a Showcase Driver.
2.2. Application. To secure and maintain a Showcase Driver Membership, in addition to the requirements listed in GSR 2-5.2, the applicant cannot hold a current professional competition license/membership from GRAND-AM or another GRAND-AM recognized sanctioning body.
...and if they did protest and nothing was wrong they would be the laughing stock of Grand Am and not have an excuse to have lost.
Yes, drivers and teams should definitely shy away from protesting questionable cars for fear of being ridiculed by a large professional sanctioning body....
Really?

The rain plays the equalizer of course, with heavy cars getting through the deep water better, but turning not as well.
The winning car was at the right place and fell off the track the least amount in the last few laps. Lucky and pretty well driven.
Maybe he needs a new PR guy??
I would hope that the tech guys have a good baseline for the simple things like cranking compression, and engine sizie.

I have races some of you from Florida, some of the best drivers I have seen IMO. I would race most of you anywhere at any track and know that you race hard but race clean!
Ernie, Mazdaracers.com is not your PR site, it a forum for people to discuss their racing! I for one don't need to be told when you or your son wins a race. Post that up on your BPP site. I promise I wont tell you on here when I win one either. When young guys like Hille and Sparks, and Skeer win races they dont come on here to tell us all about it. Some of them have even given you some advice, so take it. If you and your son are that damn good, the forum members will all do the PR for you! If you guys show up with a legal car and kick my ass I will be first one to high five you. Do your talking on the track and do your discussion of racing in here, thats what the site is for.

I think there is something in the water down there in Florida? Somebody wins a race that dont really mean shit to anyone else in the world, and they go all out to HyPe the win... Anyone who casts suspicion is a poor sport... Later, flip the script and point back the other way and call ChEaTeR... Recite santioning rules that just dont exist... Call an exibition race a PrO RaCe... Characters that type in 3rd person... Every week it seems the same main story character is back at the center of the DrAmA... Outrageous claims are made as to driver abilities... Others are chastised for not practicing their hobby enough... Some of the best in class SM racers are told they do not know what kind of advantages there are to proper setup and race prep... The list could go on and on... I must mention some of the best Youtube videos are scrounged and posted (my favorite thing about florida other than the beach)
