Satire is primarily a literary genre or form, although in practice it can also be found in the graphic and performing arts. In satire, vices, follies, abuses, and shortcomings are held up to ridicule, ideally with the intent of shaming individuals, and society itself, into improvement.[1] Although satire is usually meant to be funny, its greater purpose is often constructive social criticism, using wit as a weapon.

No it wasn't close! Especially after the kids car was found to be non-compliant after qualifying with a hogged out exhaust. Apparently Breathless does do good work as the pictures show very nice work; illegal but very nice. :) Of course that was the first thing they checked on his car and they stopped looking after that. It was good to see NASA had a cam doctor, whistler, and other tech tools waiting for the top cars. The kid did drive another car but was off the pace. So what is the punishment for a first class cheat in NASA. You know the kind that requires hours of work and is knowingly put on a car even after everybody called you out and you told everybody it was your special grease, superior aerodynamics, and just plain old bad prep by everyone else. Oh ya! We can't drive either!!! Don't start the show without me. I have to get another bag of popcorn.

Jamie, so did NASA stop looking or did Francis refuse more tech?

I believe they just stopped at that point and parked the car for the weekend and started teching other cars. Jeff was there in Tech and said that the NASA crew did a 1st class job.

Francis Jr started last in a different car because the 1.6 (of youtube fame) was found to have a modified exhaust header in qual. Header was confiscated, car was locked in impound until they could fix it. Post qual/post race 1 tech included exhaust pipe diameter, weight, header inspections, whistler, restrictor plates, rear brake rotor size, etc.

Charb and I started last due to transponder issues in qual, he got caught by the overall leaders on a full course and went a lap down.

Next time!!! The chance of that car having just an exhaust issue is 0.0%. But tech had other cars to work on and probably felt that there was no need in looking furture as the car was DQed at that point.

Wow, seriously disappointed. Once they found the non-compliant exhaust they should have kept going. I'm sure the head was ported as well. If your going to blantantly cheat, why stop at just a polished exhaust manifold? Feel bad for the kid, not they way you want to start out your racing career. SR. should have known that there was going to be some serious scrutiny on that car.

Great on NASA, to take the bull by horns on this one, nobody likes to have to pull sh%t apart for a regional meaninless race, but when there is this many accusations and this much drama repeatedly it requires actions! I appluad the efforts... Great job NASA!!!!

I hope Ron Alan can come do some spell checking and proof reading for me... I know I probably spelled a word wrong and need some help from an English teaching Marine!!!!!

As much as I would have loved to see that after being told that I can't drive and don't know how to set up my car properly, I am glad that tech was not biased towards catching one particular (albeit wellknown) cheater. In the qualifying session where his car number was called to tech he was FOUR seconds off the pace, they teched on his car exactly what the teched on everyone elses. Also, NASA FL will not pick on them blatantly as they are the main event sponsor as well as the trophy sponsor.
