The Texas boys rocked that qual race. Way to go Taylor, Alec, Steven,Aaron.... I'm sure Blake will get to the front soon also.

Wait - Blake's not on pole, Jim Daniels isn't "guaranteed" to win in any year of car, Gorriaran hasn't threatened anyone's life, Rampelberg isn't on perpetual appeal, Foss isn't able to tell who has cheater shocks from the bleachers, and Collins isn't creeping around the tech shed in a trenchcoat and black socks? And no Sammy?!?!?!

What has SM come to?!?!?!?!

Oh wait - Collins is still creeping around the Tech shed? Never mind. As you were. :)

Jim Drago, I think your mail box is full, probably too much Angel.

I've been waiting on Angel downtown in a dark parking lot for the last 15 minutes. I can't believe she contacted you and Drago. I'm upset she led me on.

Seriously, let's go SE.

All types of cars are represented in the top six, which makes me happy as hale.

Meathead-Tech was light today, weight for the ENTIRE FIELD (took a long ass time), then 1.8 RM measurements & 1.6 AFM internals inspection... More to come in the coming days, I'm sure.

The surface rubbered in nicely but it will all be gone in less than 24hrs with a 90% chance of rain late afternoon tomorrow... Our qual race may be wet.

Too much blocking and side-to-side contact for my liking but it just may be a product of the number of cars & how close the top 18-or-so are. It's pretty calm back where I'm running in the rear of the filed. Still have dudes to race with & good fun.

So can someone give a quick explanation of how qual and qual races will get to a final grid scenario for the championship?

Someone asked about the schedule... You can view the race on Saturday, Sept 8th at 11:55 PST (2:55 EST) here: http://www.speedcasttv.com/nasa/

It's free, no fee like in the past.

Champ race starting position is based on the average finishing position of the two Qual races; fasted lap is the tie breaker.

Yes, the 2nd session of the day is a "fastest lap" Qual which sets the line-up for teh Qual race.

Saul,

So far so good. All of the cars have been visually inspected twice for glaring infractions. So far only two of those found and the drivers made corrections prior to Qualifying.

The scales at Mid-O are corner scales. It is very intersting to see where the set-ups are relative to finishing position....

One car tossed on weight.

More to come tomorrow.

Don't have any info from this mornings warm up, but word has it that there was at least one FAST car in yesterday's session - NOT Ernie Jr.

Why? Because he wants all cars to be compliant with the rules?

Thanks Michael.

You would not believe how much technical inspections help keep down cheating blatant or otherwise. Too many people think they should walk into SM and be in the fast run group without paying their dues (SEAT TIME). The mindset becomes well the fast guys must be cheating so I will just cheat to be back on equal footing. Soon you see ported heads, bored out restrictor plates, aluminum flywheels, illegal cams, cheated shocks...... obvious stuff that is just absurd. Keep up the good work and more people will race in this class.

No, because it assumes guilt without any proof.

That is how this works. You call someone out, put your money where your mouth is and see if you are correct. If you are wrong you eat a big steaming pile of $hit. If you are right you have performed a valuable service to the community.

Do you know what car Mr. Drago would like to inspect? Or are you assuming you do?
