300 rpms David...fair? I guess I an others havent bitched hard and long enough that this is really a disadvantage at times? So much so that many would like to reach into this screen and shake me? I guess its worth repeating since youve forgotten 6900...maybe clouded by the 5500 swirling over all

Some folks have cheated the crap out of the rules, not an issue, make the cheat legal. As some have said, the whole deal has been for some time, Similar Miata. If I'm not mistaken, there is one new SMAC member that totally gets the 1.6 under 5,500 rpm deal. < May not make a difference, but the man understands a shortfall when he sees it. Then again if the NA cars could play a bit more heads up with the 99 plus, some egos would take a pretty good hit when that vintage car did it's thing. Not from me, my 1.6 has more than the driver. I know it's a new year and all but no one sheds any tears for the NA.
I must admit, through Karting and much of the time car racing the left coast is ahead of the game. Not so much the leader of the gang throwing the 1.6 aside.
Sorry, I thought this was a Party thread. Carry on.

Why would someones ego take a hit? If it became the overdog car all the same guys would be winning the races they win today, just in a different car. If you want to start a driver parity thread i am sure King Hiro\SA Cre Bleu\ Whatever Denny has changed it to this week will be happy to jump on that band wagon next.

And why do you respond so frequently with your overdog I'm not talking overdog. You own or did own both cars. Do you believe that if the 1.6 torque was 75% (a number picked out of my a$$) closer to the 99 torque under 5,500 rpm, the 1.6 would be an over dog?
Wheel, IIRC it was the 2009 Rouoffs there were black boxs straped in the different Spec Miatas. Were those owned by the SCCA, if so do they continue in the hands of the SCCA and what were the box measurement capabilities??? Thanks

They used the Aim Solo boxes. I will see if the data is available and if they put them on SM cars at other events.

The SMAC has a meeting on the 21st. Parity is on the agenda. There are several letters that are still on the table that need to be addressed.

I thought they were DL1s, or was that a different year?

I just found out that the AIMs came later. They are looking into the data from earlier. They may have been the DL1s.

We had AIM Solo's installed in both cars at Mid Ohio last year (2014). Butch came around and magnet mounted them to the floor of Voytek and Tom Brown.

No one outside the SCCA officials saw the data.

Dave is correct. All data recorded by SCCA is closely held and used only by tech staff and some of the CRB members. I have not seen any of the ASedan data from the multiple times that the boxes were installed to get data comparing the full prep cars to the new restricted prep cars. Other members of the CRB have seen that data.

I understand this, but was wondering what kind of data these little boxes record ?
Plus do they use both qualifying data and actual racing data ?
Last question is, have they used these actual data recording in the past and make actual adjustments for parity and if they did what classes ?

I thought she sang after Kyle won the Nasa west title in your 1.8 car
Shhhhh! only 5 people on here knows this happened
Not taking anything away from Kyle...because he whiped that car around Sonoma as fast as it could go...but the stars did align that day!
I believe the NA 1.8 was 2400 when it last had the 47mm plate...underdog! 45mm and 2365 was a wash. 45mm and 2350 is better. Rather than less weight, the 47mm with 10 or 15 lbs added back is what I would like to see. Give 1.6 -25lbs(2275) and lets see what happens. As some have said...weight and plates can be adjusted anytime.

Wheel just out of curiosity, there is a lot of data that can be captured, what is it that they look at if you can say?
