Fastest car doesn't always win :)

This NASA deal is all about being consistent. You can't have a bad qual or bad qual race, otherwise you start deep in the field. The goal the next two days is to start on the front row for the championship race.

Schrader, Dahl, and Poland are looking like the most consistent in the 19's. Will be interesting to see who gets a good tow in qualifying.

Even top five..

I put car off in 08 in rain in race one and that killed my entire event. I sat in gravel as the rest of the cars circulated until Tom Fowler joined me  :)

Any potential post race adjustments? Seemed like a lot of early and late race shuffling...any drama?

Great first day racing for the NASA National Championship at MMP today...  All three sessions were pretty clean with one punt resulting in no car damage but by the CCR warrented a DQ or the 'punter' for the qualifying race.

No major issues or red flags in tech today.  I did send four cars to the dyno (two 99's, 1.6 & 01):

  • HP delta from highest to lowest was 4.44 hp
  • TQ delta was 11.1

More fun tomorrow.

First qual race start was waved off after pace car drove at 60+ mph and the field couldn't catch up! 2nd time around, after the field had been told not to start faster than the pace car, the pace car parked it at 25mph!! Can't wait to see video of turn 1...sounded like 3 lines of cars and major freight trains!

Well it was a great race till I screwed up.  The draft is huge, gotta have a partner.

Broke in a new motor on Tuesday.  Wednesday had nothing but electric gremlins and never got any good laps on the car till Thursday AM practice.  Hille and I worked together during practice and were planning on drafting for practice, but that did not work.  I qualified on my own w/o any draft.  Car is awesome.  It can hold its own.

The DQ or Last place finish for that race hurts my chances.  I have a great video of that race, I'll see if I can post it sometime later today.
