I'm here...ghost town, the club at the track wasn't even open tonight
The good news is registration and tech went smoothly.
while not the best in shear numbers for a major. there are numerous top flight drivers and cars attending. a variety of model years AND engine builders with everything from 1.6's to two VVT cars (one by yours truly)

Trust me he will stop drinking it as long as someone else is buying. He's cheap
Tight pack. Cefalo and Goulart at the front of Q1. This afternoon could be quicker assuming the temps dip by group 7.
results from qual 1 couldn't find second session on majors site. I believe Elivan and I swapped places after those results....

Tyler, thanks for the live streaming.... you drove well. Congrats on the two podiums in a deep field.
Team SAC, congrats on the double wins! Glad that big bird is healthy.
Was great to see some real tech after the race (I was sharing garage space with JW, which happened to be right next to where the cars were being taken apart).
Was a fun weekend for sure. Leverone and I were the only 1.6L cars in the field, and I was lucky enough to have him teach me about drafting through corners and down straights in one of the sessions. Was a lot of fun, and both of the races were a lesson in how important the draft is.
Track was hot and greasy all weekend after the first qualifying session. Made for some fun drifting video, but I really had to wait to get on the power in Sunday's race. I went out on tires with 5 heat cycles.
Wish we would have had more entries, but there was a lot of local talent in those entries. Everyone drove really well.

Black SM/SM2/"Slap Bracelet Throwback" #12 in the Northeast....if the car was made in the early 90's it should look like it.
1.6L forever! Bring on your '99's and '01's!
Congrats to the winners!!
Victor - what was done in tech if you dont mind sharing. NJMP also did some real tech at the Majors last year

After qualifying pistons were inspected through the spark plug holes with a camera type thing.
After Saturday Race some motors were whistled.
After Sunday Race valve covers were removed (I think cams were measured.....) and intake manifolds were removed and inspected.
I wasn't paying too much attention to what was being checked because I didn't want to be that nosey and I was packing up my stuff/wechsler's stuff. I'm sure Planet Miata or SAC can comment more accurately.

After Qualifying on Friday I got pulled for Tech. They did restrictor plate (visual check through throttle body) and I got whistled along with a couple of other "visual" non invasive checks. It thought tech was good they looked at a lot of things and knew what they were looking for.
They had the Whistler SCCA Tech Guide out, followed the procedure exactly and the results were spot on.
Yup - they are learning to use the whistler a lot better. My car has been whistled 3x this year!!!

IIRC, there was substantial tech at the NJ Major last year. Seems like a (good) pattern.

we disassembled wechsler's car for him in tech. intake manifolds were removed and inspected, cams were measured. Kessler motor in the car and it passed tech.
