The first Majors of the Northern Tour starts this weekend at Blackhawk Farms.

 

The current registration list is very sad, and probably has the fewest amount of drivers signed up than I have ever seen for this event  . I hope more people sign up before the end of the week, or tomorrow before registration ends.

Event Schedule is as follows for Spec Miata - Group 2

 

Saturday, May 5th

8:10-8:30 AM -- Practice w/Group 1 (SRF)

10:15 AM -- 20 min Qualifying

2:05 PM -- 20 min timed Race

 

Sunday, May 6th

8:10-8:30 AM -- Qualifying w/Group 1 (SRF)

10:30 AM -- 22 lap/35 min Race

 

Weather is looking good so far with the forecast saying 71/69 and Mostly Cloudy for both days. Should be great to see some familiar faces come out of hibernation up here in the north (there was a blizzard two and half weeks ago).

All the MI and I think some of the Ohio group are heading to Pitt Race next weekend. Everyone from our group loves going to Blackhawk--people are friendly and the racing is great. Have fun this weekend.

I am going with Craig Anderson for the W!!!!!  I mean, he is the ONLY current world class athlete in our whole SM community!  As much as Goring thinks he is an athlete, Craig is the only one.

 

Since Dan Goof is so excited to be that close to starting in the top 10, he will send it in Turn 1 and wreck half of the field, handing an easy win to Craig.

yes there was some real fine driving on the first lap first corner. However, it was good for the caveman.

Move to sunny Florida!! Weather is nicer. Race all year round. Large/competitive fields. We have a regional at Daytona this weekend: 351 Drivers registered, 54 in SM and 112 in the 90 minute enduro  with about 40+ SM in that.

It's not that you're mean, it's that you're trapped like rats in that state especially those in the southern part of the state.  Similar to Long Islanders.  Pretty much have to get on a plane just to get out of there.  No wonder you get some many entries to your races.  The rest of us are free.

Ahh so that is how that happened behind me. I got a good jump on Novak at the start and went up the inside. Got tapped from behind in the braking zone and locked up the tires sending me into Novak.  The videos show the rest/details.

 

Excited for the weekend! Gags will not be joining as he has a wedding to attend :/
