Along with no late fee another great idea! Again, I would guess there are quite a few out there that would do this event no question if these 2 items are waived.
Ron-
You keep bringing the "late" fee up.... it is still priced at $599. it may have been advertised as going up but it has not. And honestly if $100 or $200 entry fee bump keeps some one from racing, they probably were looking for an excuse anyway....

So if Darin want in, can he get in on past champ.
Friends and family plan ?
BOGOF ?
How about offer storage to the runoff guys from back east to run.
Have them come back for the 25hrs at TH and they've seen all the sites and sounds of the West coast
Just saying

I had not checked since they they said a raise in price at the end of August. Wasn't the price $499 to start? Regardless the fee originally ended at $899? Or higher? But I see now the $599 has been extended to the end of Sept! At this point they should wait till a week after the Runoffs

An email was sent out tonight....
Based on recent feedback we realize you might not have had the chance to get Early Bird pricing on your entry for the Western States Championships at Sonoma later this year. So we decided to extend the Early Bird price of $599 for Racing and $499 for Time Trial through September! Get the ball rolling and plan your trip to Sonoma now before the price goes up $100 on October 1st!
The event registration page is HERE.
In case you've missed the news, here's just a few of the changes we've made for the Championships:
- Lower entry fees.
- Shortened to a 3-day format to make it easier for you attend.
- Expanded Championships to two events. One on each coast so you don't have to tow all the way across the country to attend a Championships Event.
- We made it easier for you to qualify for the Championships than in year's past.
- Winner's from the East and West Championships will be invited to race in the Mazda Race of NASA Champions on a Pro race weekend.

Says the guy with two really fast cars for sale/for rent! Somebody buy both of Ron's cars before the prices go up because they win the runoff
and then nasa championship! (And then we can have him.help.us with our cars!).
Stop the rumors! One good car...when piloted by great drivers! One total mystery car...might know more by the weekend

I hope it wins.
Strip it down and see if it's legal.

I have nothing to hide, but I'll be screwed if they ask for much for me to take apart.

I've always like John's/NASA approach..
If it's within the Pro Built parameters when tested, it good.

Then my car would have nothing to worry about...5/5 off!
Though I agree with this concept(dyno pulls)...not tearing motors down because ther HP/TQ numbers were within limits drives a lot of honest racers nuts! A lot of time/$ and effort is spent to make good HP. For not very much money that same HP can be achieved with a little fudging

There will by Dyno pulls (a lot of them) and there will be tear downs...

Folks with 1.8 motors and who expect to run upfront should be sure to bring tools to remove valves from heads. For any reason if you can't do it in tech you will be DQ'd... So brush-up on valve removal or find someone who knows how to do it. Oh, and bring some boxes.

Nice pics of what you can expect if your dyno numbers look too large or if you are near the pointy end
