We are a couple of days away from the season opener, Homestead Majors 

 

Deanna Flanagan from the Majors program sent us this message today, so I am hoping that there will be some FULL-ON Tech!!!

 

Spec Miata drivers:

In an effort to provide consistent compliance checking across events, a new official position has been created called the Class Compliance Chief.  This position is defined in the 2015 GCR Section 5.11.4.

The Class Compliance Chief will be at select events throughout the year.  The following language has been added to all U.S. Majors Tour event supplemental regulations including Homestead.

 

SPEC MIATA COMPLIANCE:  At the direction of the Class Compliance Chief at post-race inspection, Spec Miata participants may be directed to remove parts, specific but not limited to the cylinder head, for disassembly and/or inspection. Competitors are responsible for performing required disassembly and/or reassembly of their car, as well as any resulting expenses incurred.

Nothing else to do , so I will pick the top five guys.  I like that track, wish we were there.. especially with the cold we have rolling in here.

I think it is coming down to the Miami boys, Selin and Alex Bolanos who are the most consistent there. Possibly Mark Gibbons from the old dogs camp will surprise with a top 5 finish. (But im biased)

Charbs is always a contender for the win.  But hasn't raced as much lately as some of the other front runners.  No doubt will he be at the front, but it will be interesting for sure

I wouldn't expect him to be close this weekend as he is racing with a new team. Few are any better than the leader of his old team. He has the talent, but neglecting his equipment for last few seasons.. Or perhaps it could be due to the fact that he is bat shit crazy!

Goulart. - SM National Champ - very very fast. He is also National Champ in two other classes. He and Poveledo will qualify in the top four and will be tough to beat.

Really heartwarming to see so many Rossini engines in the field. Mike is one of the really good guys in the sport! Very happy for him

Goulart, Rollan, Bolanos and others going fast. Huge tip of the cap to Alex for posting a 1:38.6 in his brand new car, first time out on the track. Charbs, Buras, and a few other expected front runners not testing today.

With several drivers doing the 24hr race a few days ago, many will not need to shake the rust off like me.

I think it was Bolanos, but not sure. Times throughout the day stayed pretty constant. 38's were the fastest times we recorded.

Congrats to Alex Bolanos! Also Mark Gibbons and Mike Rossini, both higher up in the order than I have ever seen them in a major. Nice job!

When assigned to an event by the head of Club Racing or his designate, the CCC works with the event technical staff to provide consistent compliance checking across all the events in the designated class/es.  Decisions made by the CCC regarding compliance are non-protestable.
