Who won test day. The rumor mill is two of the Gluttens for Punishment are back testing today with freshly reassembled cars and are at or near the front of test day.

I imagine the same characters will be in the mix this weekend...

Test day is in the bag.

Everyone was chasing the elusive 2:35 times - (remember Buras has done a 2:34 in his 1.6 here in qualifying session). But the weather wasn't really cooperating.

Dillon looked to be one of the strongest, I certainly had nothing for him. Rollan, Carbonnel, Buras, Steyn, Goulart and a few others were all in the 2:36 range, but there were a LOT of drivers in the low 2:37 range. If everone keeps it together for qualifying, there should be a really tight grid for Saturday's race.

Four random cars pulled into tech - weighed, checked restrictor plate, whistled and more. Nice to see this finally happening throughout the pack. 

 

Really good SM driver and crew meeting chaired by Tom Fowler and hosted by Mark Gibbons who generously provided the Pizza and Beer to more than 80 attendees. This informal drivers meeting is gaining traction and is proving to be not only a good venue to share information but also a great forum to get to know the other drivers and crew

I'm not sure what rumors you heard but nothing was said to infer you didn't show up because you were afraid of tech. There was a lot of B.S., joking, ball busting (on everybody) and beer drinking. Other than a few jabs here and there (Rossini was right next to me) people didn't bring up Homestead and really couldn't care less. Maybe I'm incorrect but I was there and never heard anything said in a serious manner to suggest that is why you didn't show up.

It was a fun loving group and what I took away from the meet.
Von charb, I learned something about his shorts, legs and scca perfect storm about runoffs 3 years ago. And he said
something about a single voice for the group.
Danny on smack, then off smack, then on smack, now happy..
Mike is still mad, despite all the warm wishes. ..
Gibbons, having a good time and hooking us up with all the pizzas we could eat...props...
We finally have someone shorter than Jammie in the group.
Tom is a pretty good MC and nominated for Voice of SM.

Probably all but 10 drivers showed,
Tom wants to self police before SCCA, something about rioting in suspected cheaters paddock...he would supply bats so it can get ugly? I'm worried. .

Never met Mr Buras but it seems he may have been infected by Von Charbs, his speech/typing patern is the first sign f the infection.

Good stuff Todd, there shood be a decent croud from Texas at NOLA so Tom can recruit more followers.
