Clearly, most people posting so far haven't watched a race at Daytona or looked at the results from the races over the last couple years. It is interesting how all of the comments so far leave out Cory Collum yet mention Alex Bolanos? I do not mean to offend anyone by my statements below, just analyzing past results at Daytona.
Lets look at partners:
You have the Todd2 partners: which are possible winners although recently were split up both times during the races at the last Daytona event in August even though qualifying P1 and P2. I must say, Todd Lamb did a very good job when they were split up, by himself a lot of the race, battling against cory and alex working together.
East Street racing: fast anywhere, had fast qual times, but haven't had much success at Daytona so far this year during the race. Drago getting a finish of 4th in August in the race he didn't start from the back.
Selin Rollan and Andrew Carbonell: Selin is very fast at Daytona by himself and consistently finishes in the Top 5, now he has a great partner with Andrew and they have one of the best shots at winning IMO.
Team OPM with Blake and Danny Steyn: Blake recently won one of the May races but finished 11th and 18th in August, Steyn finished 6th and 8th in August.
Goring and Charbonneau? Rossini drivers who can both work together to finish well, Goring was very fast in August at his first time at the track finishing 2nd and 4th.
Cory Collum and Alex Bolanos: Your 2015 Runoffs champions. Yes, I am biased as I am an Autotechnik driver, but lets look at the results. In a stacked field in August, Cory Collum won both races. Alex Bolanos was driving Mark Gibbon's car finishing 6th and 2nd, and I am sure in his own car... he will be more comfortable and faster. By the way, they qualified 8th and 9th behind most of the names above. Autotechnik drivers have won 3/4 races in 2015 against strong fields. Finishing at least 2 drivers in the top 5 every race in 2014 and 2015.
August 2015:
Cory P1 x2
Alex P2 and P6
May 2015:
Alex P1 and P2
Jeff Labounty P2 and P5
Cory: P6 x2
Sept 2014 (SIC):
Cory: P3
Alex: P4
August 2014
Cliff Brown: P4
Cory: P1
Jeff Labounty: P2
Bruce Anderson Jr: P6
I can go back further, but I think I made my case.
My top 5 pick for Jim's $300:
P1 Cory Collum
P2 Alex Bolanos
P3 Selin Rollan
P4 Andrew Carbonell
P5 Todd Lamb
If I had a wildcard 6th pick, I'm going with the Young gun Preston Pardus.
That is all.

I feel a little funny not picking Drago, Berry or Steyn in the top five but I like John's thoughts. However... I think all three of them will be in the hunt.
