While you're all busy waiting for your session today, email Jesse McClelland at Sebring and voice your opinion on the lack of test day pre-registration.

 

Here's his email to me - I guess 20 minutes to setup online registration for test day isn't worth it to him to save everyone (including his staff) hours of time.

 

"As I mentioned on the phone we will not be able to do anything until after our March race due to our workload but if you will contact me in April we will look into it"

Congrats Alex!.... looked really strong, and made me look good with one of my top 3 pics. Buras and Drago were both in the top 10, so not bad all around. Good luck, and looking forward to seeing what happens tomorrow.

Bolanos was strong in Test day and in qualifying, and seemed to be the guy to beat. Selin Rollan appeared to have his measure in the race and they ran up front together and then started to test each other with two laps to go. Neither wanted to lead the last lap and according to those watching the race it was bizarre seeing brake lights come on before the start finish line!!

 

On the last lap, between Nascar 3 and 4, Rollan and Bolanos touched wheels, just as Rollan was shifting to 5th, and he bent his selector fork, locking the transmission in 4th, while Bolanos pulled away for the win.

Todays race was a blast.. The top six broke away...Congrats Alex Bolanos on the Win, myself in second and Michael Carter in third! It was one of the most fun races I have had in a long time. The skill level in Our class is insane. So much fun racing 10/10 around people you trust ! Great job to all including Danny Steyn, Todd Buras and Selin Rollan. These are the races that keep you coming back ! I worked with Blake Clements all weekend... Messed him up in qualifying twice and somehow managed to out qualify him thanks for the help, it was fun.

I left the pit lane and my hood popped open and ran the entire race that way. It was fun watching the chess match... Everyone wanted to work with Alex, but wanted to hang him out solo equally as bad.. After all the shuffling Alex and I ended up together in p5-6, I just shadowed Alex and we got to 1-2 at the end. A very satisfying second if there is such a thing. At one point I lost draft while in sixth and thought my race was over.. Michael Carter waited on me and we caught back up.

Thanks to Dan and Preston Pardus for taking care of me this weekend along with Tom Fowler and Tracy Fowler and the entire Opm crew who kept me hydrated, fed and did a nut and bolt for me on my car.. Lastly Mike@ Rossini racing for taking my car to Sebring for me. What a great class we have!

Really great racing by all this weekend. Like Daytona this track requires a team mate. Lose your team mate, hope like hell that you have enough friends out there that will pick you up, or you are going backwards. I must be universally disliked as I managed to convert poles on both days into an 8th place finish on Day 1 and 4th on Day 2.

 

Despite the poor finishes, the racing was intense, especially going in 2 wide 2 deep into Turn 1 many laps, waiting to see who was going to give it up! Just love that kind of racing. Not for the faint of heart. Congrats to all the podium finishers, and especially to Alex who was in a class of his own all weekend, seemingly able to pull away from anyone whenever he wanted. Also congrats to Micheal Carter for setting the new SCCA lap record of 1:38.313. I believe that Alex went faster than this in a NASA race a few years ago.

Great cars, great guys, great company to deal with.. 

 

Following Alex... I could match him well from 1-5, he completely handed it to me in 6 & 8 and likely where he made all his time on the field.  I think Alex had a very good car, but the car did not beat us, despite any contrary opinion. If you think it was the car.. it had a for sale sign in it.

Very good driver + very good car + thousands of laps = two wins
