Wild race...   Cars spinning on the last lap changed up everything..  Went from 7th to 3rd to 20th all in the last half lap..  Should be fun tomorrow....

From what I hear and Hille can speak to this if I am wrong, he is not allowed to race the races due to blowing registration and doing practice/qual... I'm sure it was a complete oversight on his part as I have known him for years and never known him to purposefully break and rules.

If true scca at a minimum did the right thing penalties could have been worse. Can have people on track who have not signed the waiver etc I suppose.

Congrats the the guy who has a history of winning from p7... Texted Adam this morning that there was no rule against winning from p7! It was the same scenario we had the second weekend I coached him at mid Ohio!

He has worked hard in a very short amount of time, humble young man who still askes the right questions and listens to good advice!

Congrats Adam Roberts!!! Great race you just ran passing some very accomplished drivers the get the front, while making less mistakes then the rest. Enjoy the win!

According to Michael Carter, he and Drago were side by side at the end of the back straight on the last lap. Drago was on the outside trying to pass Carter. They had wheel to wheel contact sending both into a spin. Nothing intentional. Carter ended up in China Beach. Racing incident.

it was a great race today, both days seemed like keeping your nose clean was the path to the podium more than most weekends. sorry to disappoint the guys that chose me in their top 5, that was my goal for the weekend and i felt i proved that i should have at least had top 5 but the car just didn't seem to want me to finish even after all the work jims guys did throwing everything at it to fix it i am very appreciative of the kind of work they do. oh well had a great weekend otherwise on to the June sprints now

We had a fantastic weekend at Mid-Ohio. It started out with the usual concern over rain, but at least for SM the rain never came. it was mid 70's sunshine all weekend.

 

I had a pretty good weekend, not perfect but good, I ended up with a P6 and P8. Sunday. I was able to keep a more comparative pace, gave up a few spots as it was hard to keep the tires under the car. Running on older SM7's can be fast but they also give up later in the race. One of my goals was to bring the car home clean, and out side of a few bumps and bruises car was good.

 

I did apologize to Jordan Smart, for knocking him off track. With two laps to go on Sunday i tried to pass at the end of the back straight, and with my tires hot i just was not able to get it completely turned in and we touched he went off.

 

I did hold up and gave him that spot back as it was in the contingency and we finished P7 and P8.

 

At impound the steward came up to Jordan and I, I was thinking he was going to question us about contact, he said Oh no, i want you to pull your transmission and flywheel.

 

I got the unluck of the draw, Random P8.

 

Note to self, P8 is the random number for tech.

 

Lots of transmissions were pulled this weekend. The top 3 from Saturday, and at least 3 others from Sunday, i believe making it at least 6 trans pulled.

 

I know my box and the box i built for Adam Roberts were good to go. I did not hang around but i assume all was good in tech.

 

Lastly, i want to thank Ralph and his V2 crew for being there to help pull my transmission. I am just coming off of a hip replacement surgery, and it was a struggle as it is, I would have been in a pickle if it were not for those guys to help.

 

To my knowledge no man drama, there was some contact and carnage,  but overall pretty clean respectful racing from my view.

It didn't really rain until they released the final group from impound.  We definitely won on the weather this weekend.

 

Apologies and thanks to everyone that had to avoid me when I lost it in turn one lap 2 on Saturday.  I couldn't be mad about my finish knowing how lucky I got there.

 

Very clean racing midpack Sunday.  I never even got rubbed all weekend.  Just some bump draft help given and received.  Wish I had a chance to meet everybody I was running with.

Great race today. Congrats to Carter for the win, but the fun stuff was from 2nd to 7th. Great when SM racers go wheel to wheel. Sorry to see Stearns go off in T6, taking Davis with him, and sad to see Drago losing it in T11 under pressure from Bender.

But when the top 5 qualify within 1/10th of a second and the top 17 qualify within 1 second, you know you are racing in the BEST DAMN CLASS IN ALL IF CLUB RACING!
