Could be the best race of all.
Because it won't be solid yellow from T1?
Could be the best race of all.
No dog in the hunt, just my opinion - it would really suck if after three days of qualifying and making the top 72 to have a problem or get crashed and miss the main event. I don't think the qually race is needed - not sure why the SCCA didn't set the field after Q3.

What if you are a much better racer, running consistent laps in traffic, than you are at setting 1 fast lap time? What is more valuable for road racing? I bet you would be pretty happy if you made it into the top 72 after sitting just outside.
I've gotten 5 clean laps in qualifying all week. I blew three of those myself. It's a race not a time trial.

Prior to a certain incident at TWS that destroyed his front running car and sent our man to the hospital, William routinely ran up front. I'm sure he just views this as some bonus racing with an opportunity to move up the grid.
How does he move up the grid? Aren't the top 60 locked in? (The top 60 also don't have to worry about tearing up their car a day before the big race.)
Re- read the supps. looks like they are locked in from 61 onwards which imo is unfair. Times 61-76 ought to count towards qualy.
Well didn't he have his chance to make in the top 60 ? maybe IDK.
I would guess the top 8 will run clean and try to check out.
8~12 will have to defend.
12~18 attacking but not trying to trip over each other and slow each other down.
18+ for an issue

Whatever happens with the last chance race, just take a minute to think about the fact that we have the top 20 within 8 tenths of a second and 60 cars within about 2.6 seconds on a 2 minute track. I don't believe there has never been anything like that in the history of motorsports. Fantastic stuff.

What did Devoto do? Did he put someone into the fence, whack into them or just run them off the road?
(sorry had the wrong guy listed at first...)

I guess there is no time like the present...
A lot of us mid/back of the pack guys have started heats or pea picks from pole. If it's your first time at a Runoffs LCQ that's going to be a sphincter pucker.

And races until yellow are the best?
No. But this may be the race with the biggest prize for most of these guys. Hoping it is a clean race. If it is it may be better than the feature race. I know a few of these guys. All good racers. Some with less talent and some just don't have the budget for a competitive car. But just because they aren't at the front of this pack don't think they haven't been on pole at some point.
Hey Willy, sorry you just missed the top 60 but it should be a blast starting from pole in the last-chance. Good luck!!

You have to think if these races become epic, how many are coming (next time) for LCQ knowing there not making the big show.
(SCCA $$$$$$) probably venue dependent though.

Yea, let's do New Hampshire in '19. Another roval and guaranteed LCR.
