While i dont race SM, i have been racing SRF for a while. I have been thinking about coming back to racing but i have to admit the time on track is an issue for me. I use to drag race at nhra divisionals (like scca regionals) 3-4 guaranteed shots in 2 days and then more if you make it past each round. Sitting at a track for 3 days for 30 seconds or less of time in the car , it was getting boring. Yes i know its about the people but we still go to the track to be on track. Now scca regional without a practice day 4 20 minute sessions, after towing, scca fees, lodging etc.. not to mention if there is a yellow flag or something, how much time are we getting. I know racing is expensive but i also know that sitting in the pits gets old. I know a few people lately who have turned to DEs because they are on track way more than a racing an event. I get it, its not racing but how many races are we actually doing at an event, 1 may be 2? The rest are qual races which still take your best lap time and position really doesnt come in to play and practice.

SCCA Road Racing is in Trouble!
