Any talk about the incident with Gorrian and Drago when Drago was being passed between turn 5 and 6, when he was being lapped. :o

I think Pat's talking about EG/SG catching Drago with about 2 laps to go. The announcers felt that Drago didn't "move over" as quickly as he could have. EG gained a few car lengths on SG getting around Drago. But, SG drafted right back up by the next corner.

Spectators were booing as #2 (Drago) was going really slow waiting for the leaders, and then messing with the SG #44. Did not represent sportsman behavior, and should warrant investigation or action by stewards.

Racing

Two wrongs don't make a right, but.......

Blocking someone in qualifying and after stewards actions threatening to take someone out on the first lap, picking a fight with them at the Mazda party, and then dumping them in the race is the beacon of great conduct!

Pat, protest was deemed not well founded. I thought Drago showed HUGE restraint. BTW, there is no rule against racing with the leaders if you are laps down, strange but true. The starter can warn you with a black rolled up flag but it is usually to late in coming out to help those leaders effected. If you reenter and race hard less contact, they will never say anything. Frown, maybe depending on circumstance. In this instance, I think all were just relived it was not a huge retaliatory crash. It is an advanced race craft discussion to say the least. In pro racing it is different, you are crashed within one turn if you try anything.

EG and JD are released of driving related protests.

SG not looking so well. On appeal but as bad as it gets from a collection of issues from the week.

I learned this week that some folks don't understand the difference between the brake light rule and why we have it vs intentional lifting off the brakes to purposely check up the trailing car that causes the same outcome, a wreck. Sad!

I will post more asap.

And here I was enjoying my man drama retirement...... lol

:scratchchin:

I believe there's more than one somebody hiding behind the computer screen. At the moment their taking :chillpill:

:soapbox:

JD1, how about a different parity maker for Road America (IIRC two more years runoffs & maybe more). Ya, I know something different for the SCCA would be totally new. I would believe there are a bunch of 1.6's that see no sense in wasting a week plus vacation for not a shot at a podium. Crap, I'm local, retired, new first clas 1990 build with the only thing missing being a motor to get the job done. Loshak would drive in a blink of an eye. I would do a motor if I believed the 1.6 stooooood a chance in hell of a Runoffs poidum. Obviously the 1.6'ers are at :peace1: with themselves not running. & I totally understand that all the perfect pieces don't get a podium.

To those that think they have a capable 1.6 please come get-er-done AT ROAD AMERICA. :duck:

Racing

Dude, he only slowed when they caught him and was turning laps at their speed while they was racing. He was out there 5 laps before they caught him, how the F(*& is that waiting for them. I was on the hill at 7, everyone there, sea of folks, were not booing........ In fact, we were disappointed he did not take SG out.

Declare who you are, we don't bite but accurate info is a must.

But wait, there's more, if you are a SG friend then I understand/respect the blindness but not the anonymous.

Pat does not race in the wet and the man drama suggested it was going to be a cluster, he withdrew.

Not sure Tony.

When I saw Drago go back out, I wondered what was going to happen when SG was near him. It would be tough not to at least slow him down a bit.

I think we all appeal to Mr. Drago and ask him to build a 1.6. Perhaps we even pool funds to pay for it then sell it to recoup. If it can be done, he is the one to do it given the '99 supremacy he has right now.

The video feed moved away from the leaders as they were about to lap Drago, they showed the group behind. Glad to see Drago too a :chillpill: I'm sure he was :fuming:
