Huge save in the kink!!! The first few laps you seem to be loose in, at Canada Corner, were you still on the brakes as you initiated turn in?

I think it's wet as shit there. There is puddling at the kink and if you notice they're bailing on the apex at 12, the backside of the track is shaded and always seems to stay wet longer.

Danny...You don't give yourself enough credit. That was a hell of a drive before being punted. Your only fault was that you have a conscience and let the tap to AC get to you(some would call his move to the left blocking :duck: ). The fact you passed him at the next corner(his issue cooking it in there, no fault of yours)allowed you to lose focus for a minute and then miss your own braking point(your fault). The final contact with Voytek was all him as you left him plenty of room. I assume apologies were given and accepted and all have moved on :yep:

Posting this video brings you nothing but    from the left coast  Wish others could look past there reasons for not showing theirs so we can all relive it for the next year

Post this in the video section so it's easy to find in the future and others may decide to follow you in the thread

Not sure I agree with your blocking theory Ron. I guess I would need another (fixed) camera view. But just wanted to make sure everyone agrees (knows) there is a big difference between defending and blocking. Might be a good off season thread, especially since some have mentioned potential "consequences" for blockers.

Great video Danny, you're brave for sharing. This year, I've learned a lot about having more fun amidst the drama and things you can't control, and my own mistakes for that matter.

For the most part, I saw some good heads up drving at the front, although I did love the hand out the window "whats a matter for you passing me" hand gesture :)

I have an opinion so I must be right

I gotta say, from your angle, that Gorilla move isn't particularly damning...Am I a noob?

The only difference between protecting and blocking is which car you're in! :rotfl:

As was I! Many a woman looks real purty if she is at the right angle! Get a real good look and a Troll is still a Troll!

Well, it started out as an insult to drivers.....note phrase "got a glimpse of you"....meaning that the girlfriend first thought "we" looked ok from a particular angle.

I am sure from some angle (whatever angle your wifes/girlfriends first got a glimps of you) wasnt particularly damning either!

Just saying! :shame:

But, then he clearly switched the target here:

Really? While I was not there and have no way of knowing what any of these guys were thinking, the various views from Speedcast and Danny’s video looks like a very deliberate set-up and expert execution. Just as entering the braking zone, a gentle nudge to the light side of the rear bumper (Danny’s video at 2:22). Then on the brakes and watch the show as physics takes over. It appears that Drago did an incredible job of not completely loosing it, he only rotated 90 degrees. Also Kudos to Steve for not double hitting Drago as Drago was sliding off the track. A display of skill at the highest level from all.

Again, I was not there and have no way of know what anyone was thinking and or planning but if you wanted to “take someone out” this video is textbook on how to execute that kind of move.

Added: just to be clear, I know neither Jim Drago or Steve G. well. I've briefly meet Steve when he single handedly won his class at the 25 hours of Thunderhill. It was an extremely impressive feat. It was obvious he is a very talented and dedicated driver along with a dedicated crew to help him succeed. And I briefly meet Drago when he ventured to Texas for one of our local races. My comments above are strictly reporting what I see from imperial evidence. With that said, from what I’ve seen, I would feel much more comfortable racing with Drago than Steve.

I wasn't trolling, I was pursuing dialog. Evidentally I am far too trusting of people.

I have posted my video to my YouTube channel. It’s there for all to see, warts and all. I made several small mistakes throughout the race, but my screw up with Andrew going into T5 on lap 11 led to a chain of events that put me out of contention. All my fault. Would drive a different race today if I could do it all again. :banghead:

As you will see I scared myself silly in the kink on lap 1, and it took me until lap 7 to go flat through the kink, and I lost time in the kink on those first 6 laps.

Danny,

Seriously great save, probably the best I have ever seen. It not only saved your race but many others behind you, its a shame you didn't finish on the podium.
