Skip it & bring your 1.6 to the June Sprints joining a couple other quiet quick 1.6's. Road America can handle 100 at a time.
Dont be confused... There is a difference between Fast dirvers and fast cars, Hille is Fast driver, in decent car, and I dont believe you get an argument from him...
Me slow driver in Fast car, equal so so race results...

Starts and Finish will be on the front straight. And we will be running the Club Course (with the bus stop before the keyhole).

Impossible! I was assured that it will be the pro course with a pro start. Your data is flawed Cabe.

66 cars starting on the front
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say part of the field will be starting in Thunder Valley.
Let's ask the chief stewart if they will move the start/finish line to just before the bridge.

Jerry the supps say we are running the pro course, Plus I find it hard to belive that Grand am would run the club course???Confirmed with Chief Steward for the Shootout.

Last year we ran the pro course.

Cannot get the back markers to close ranks.
An excellent topic for the driver's meeting.

I will guarantee you that Grand Am will run the Pro Course.
What we run, there appears to be conflicting info. The Supps say the Pro Course is 2.38 miles. My information is that the Pro Course is 2.258 miles, and the Club Course is 2.38 miles. SCCA allows 25 cars per mile, and with special permission, 10% on top of that. So if we run the Pro Course, we would be limited to 62 vehicles, with the Club Course, 66 vehicles. I get to run both configurations during the year so I don't have an issue with which one we run. Given a choice, I would vote for the Club Course (but then I don't pass too many people).

Do we understand that we are going to be parking in the same place as last year, and marked off exclusive for SCCA only?

also is the Hoosier contingency going to apply to SM in this race. Jerry you are smart and have all the answers
My phone's smarter than I am.
The Regional Hoosier Contingency by Hoosier Tire Midwest will apply since this is an SCCA sanctioned regional race. Since it has a single sanction, the final race on Sunday is the one that counts. It also applies to all classes, not just SM. Contingency requirements and info available on the division website at www.greatlakes-scca.org

Well that would make sense that they want the bigger course so they would run the club. however looking at it another way, putting in the chicane so it eliminates a passing zone making 66 cars even more difficult. Unless we get cancellations it does not look like there is a choice. Do we understand that we are going to be parking in the same place as last year, and marked off exclusive for SCCA only?
That is what I was told a couple weeks ago, but things change at Pro events about as fast as M-O weather. There is to be a roped off area for our paddock, supposedly near the shower house. Look for Willy Church's flat black motorhome and trailer.
Tech and Steward meetings to be in the paddock. BTW, No tent camping in the paddock area.
