What ??  I think Kyle's odds are good.

Get the same bozo's to take out the front and your good to go. :)

J~

I didn't mean that Kyle's odds of winning weren't good.  What the hell would I know from the back of the pack?

When I said "it was good while it lasted" I was attempting (perhaps poorly) to refer to the positive vibe over his new outlook on life...rather all the ribbing that immediately ensued with the general theme of "yeah, right!"

Another view of the start from the 4th row. From 8th to the upper 20's and finished 10th. A fun race and for the most part some excellent driving. Thanks to the Advanced Autosports crew for the great support!

So why does the 76 decide its time to hit the 17 and shove the entire pile into the corner.  WTF, and people want to know why the SCCA frowns on bump drafting.

Easy tiger.  I am sure Jeff is a very clean driver and from his video he is getting pushed also, however he does not wave off the pusher when he gets to the end of the straight when people are having to get ready to turn in.  He also left a huge gap between him and the 17 which created some of the argie bargie.  I make mistakes but I have not made this particular mistake.  So I will throw some stones, that kind of shit shouldn't be happening at the start of a race.  Why are guys 4 rows back pushing the pile?

IMO, this is important. if you roll on the start, start slow but build speed till the green everyone has a pace. If i recall we started then we backed off then we started again, and those who got jumped a little were trying to make that up in the braking zone rather than all of us getting there about the same time.

Rolling starts, while not what they request is the safest start IMO, as it avoids the guys in the back who then try to jump the green and pile into you anyway.

Viewed the T1 deal as a spectator, WOW, sorry a couple cars were out so very early for nothing they did wrong.

After watching the petfinder video someone needs to talk with Andrew with reference to his drivers personal equipment. Visor open (have in other videos, viewed broken windshield glass come rearward) and looked like helmet strap flying loose (don't ever want to see results from loose helmet strap . I hope I'm wrong on the helmet strap.

Ok so who was pushing #76... ME, and you clearly see i backed off of him.  In his vid he also backs off tom Brown...  Jordan not Jeff...

Frank nailed it!

Bender is on inside being pushed by brown, and mike keeps him down there low where it will be tough for him to make the corner, elder turns in unaware that bender is up the inside, contact made and it starts the chain of events.  Its hard to really say any one person is at fault and it sure as hell aint Jordans fault!

I don't get why you guys just ran into a pile of cars? Where did everyone think they were going to go?  It seems like a pretty good probability if all are lined up nose to tail and people start running into the back of each other the dominos will all fall ? more than a few in that line needed to lift or start dragging the brake IMO

I'm not sure what happen up front, but..

Didn't the guy on the rt, frt row lock up and crash into the lt frt ??

Isn't that what started the SNAFU.

Bump drafting at the start of the race should have been avoided. EVERYONE knew there was a corner coming........

I started on POLE. I was warned to make a SLOW start or I would be Black flagged....   I will agree it was not my best start but it had ZERO to do with the first corner. The entire right side row hit each one after another in a bump draft and and knocked Bender through the corner and into me as we TRIED to turn the corner... Bender ---who was all the way on the right ---me in the middle and Elders on the left. I watched Benders video and he would have been able to make the turn had he not gotten hit.

We should have been able to go through turn one three wide and go from there but instead must everyone in the right row used the guy in front of them as brakes-----Not saying everyone did but I see the same thing in most of the posted videos...

And the starting procedures are for every class, correct?

I think the increasing the speed, slowly is a good, safe idea.

Not sure if that applies to every class though.

Maybe starting the race as far down the track to keep speed lower, but that still doesn't stop the dive bombs.

Hello all, long time lurker, first time poster. I wish my first post was under better circumstances, but I feel I need to comment on the start and provide my perspective.

My name is Jordan Smart, and I am the #76 in question. I recognize that my bump on the 17 was late. I've watched the start well over 50 times by this point (mine and others) trying to figure out how this could have been avoided. Luckily Tom was heads up enough to grab the brakes after my bump, mostly negating it before we got to turn 1. I recognize my mistake and would like to publicly apologize for it. I will take my lashings and going forward I will be more heads up as to when and where the boosts are applied. I feel especially gutted seeing as I came out of it in the lead.

He also left a huge gap between him and the 17 which created some of the argie bargie.

This gap was not my intention. I always prefer to be on the leading car's bumper on the start (to take advantage of missed shifts, slow starters, etc) and I was expecting a slower start like Saturday. I was full throttle coming out of T7 just trying to catch up before we took the green, but it looks like everyone else was too.

btw #76 is one of the cleanest guys in the pack bar none

Kyle, this means a lot to me. Thank you.
