Never really had an issue with CFR registration, and none either for test days until the NASCAR folks took over at Sebring.

TOPEKA, Kan. (Sept. 3, 2015) – A professional team of well-known motorsports broadcasters will man the microphones for the SCCA National Championship Runoffs Presented by Garmin VIRB, Sept. 25-27, at Daytona International Speedway. Veteran broadcasters Rick Benjamin, Greg Creamer, Jeff Lepper and Dorsey Schroeder will call play by play live on SCCA.com for each of the 28 races over three days, with Heyward Wagner returning to report the goings on in pit lane.

Each Runoffs race is a winner-take-all, 14-lap sprint race for an SCCA National Championship following four days of qualifying. The SCCA.com coverage begins just before 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, with the GT-2 class opening the weekend. Ten races, concluding with Spec Miata at 7:30 p.m. (EDT) as the feature of Friday Night Lights presented by Mazda, will run on Friday, with nine each on Saturday and Sunday.

For the first time, Wagner and Lepper will co-host a wrap up show on each day of qualifying, live from Daytona, on SCCA.com. The show will recap the day’s activities as well as find interesting characters and storylines. The show will stream on SCCA.com beginning at 6 p.m. (EDT), Monday through Thursday, following qualifying.

“The SCCA Runoffs presented by Garmin VIRB is the best possible weekend to attend as a race fan, with 28 races in three days, but the next best thing is to watch it live from home,” Reece White, SCCA Sr. Manager of Marketing and Communications, said. “Once again, for three consecutive days, our amateur National Championship event will have a professional broadcast hosted by Rick, Greg, Jeff, Dorsey and Heyward to showcase some of the best racing to be seen, at any level.”

Production for the weekend races will, once again, be provided by SpeedCastTV.

A few of us ran under 2:20 today but none of the fast South Florida boys were on track today, so who knows what will transpire.

For those of you not here, it is just as quiet at the track. None of the usual banter and bullshit. Everyone is staying in their camps. Tomorrow the cards start being shown. Runoffs are not my favorite events, I like more of the usual camaraderie at Majors or Divisional races. At the end of this week I will post an accounting of what this cost me to be here.

Interesting last day of Testing today. Lots of teams in the low 2:20's, very few in the high 2:19's, and fewer still in the low 2:19's. Tomorrow we start with Q1 at midday. Should be a VERY revealing session.

TWO car trains work well. 4 car trains just as well, but the 3 car train, for some strange reason just doesn't work out for the caboose. Lots of last minute alliances being struck, team mate changes, and more. Strategy WILL play a large part in the final race.

But the most intriguing story line for me is that iRacing is just the most AMAZING simulator EVER. I have picked up so much pace from running thousands of bus-stops over and over again. Cannot recommend this sim enough. JUST FRIGGIN AMAZING. From the SARRC event approximately 6 weeks ago, I have shaved so much time through the bus-stop all due to the iRacing simulator. Did not expect this!

For once, qualifying may not be all that important as long as you are in the top 15?? Will the guy pushing on the last lap pop out to try and take the win? If he does will the P4 car pushing the P3 car gladly take P2? Just how far back can the winning car come from on the last lap? I wonder if they will let cars sit off the edge of the track and go green like they did at Laguna?

Will we find out if there is really a difference in stock 7000rpm rev limiters?

Going to be very interesting!

So much to luck and chance this year. The best car and the best driver aren't going to be the deciding factor. There are so many ways this can play out.

Q1 on now. Fastest SM trap speed showing over 136 mph. Many in the 132-135 range. How high is the plane these things are being dropped out of? Impressive.

Lamb over Buras by 0.001 sec, and they did it late.

Looking down the grid it's easy to see who drafted together.

Top 18 within a second.

Was there any foursome drafting during the session???

That 136 trap speed is flat a$$ flying.

Mark, where did you find the trap speeds?
