If you are going to put your man crush in Sm? Can I put in Fernado Alonso? Although Loshak would likely beat him
When's the last time you shared a beer with your friends Harvick or Alonso? Ya, I didn't think so, just more salvage yard BS.

I can't help you if you can't get past "tribalism". Get your mind off of 4%. Where we lead, others will follow. You sound like you want someone else to solve the problem because we can't effect change as we are only 4%. It's ok to pollute "X" much because they pollute "X+Y". We fix what we can fix and the rest of the world will follow. We need to be a leader. Advocating that its pointless because of percentages is an untenable position, especially if you can capitalize on the solution(s)...
No where do I see Saul saying anything is pointless...he does nothing but agree with you we can do better. His point is yelling at your neighbors who already live in a society(America)which is doing much better than most might do nothing more than make you breathless. Seek out and plant your efforts in those parts of the world in which solutions can create real change?
And for what it is worth...we are only "leading" if the guy we voted for is running the show!

Rant?
Were am I ranting?
Were did i point to ecological benefit as my goal?
Why do you want to keep us grounded?
I am trying to solve traffic congestion and reduce the dependence on infrastructure to move us "humans" around.
With the removal of traffic congestion there may be a side benefit of reducing pollution with the removal of millions of cars idling while stuck in traffic.
I could podium if I had a pro built car.

Having a beer with a "pro" like Loshak is basically the same thing as me having a beer with a player on our minor league hockey team. Yeah, it is cool and fun and all, but nobody to really be bragging about since they will probably never make it into the NHL.

OK, you are right, “rant†was the wrong term. I generally try to choose my words more carefully. But, other than that I’m still lost. Your original comments about 3D transport left us mostly guessing as to both your vision and the perceived benefits. As I tried to give your words appropriate consideration I may have filled the blanks incorrectly. But subsequent attempts at clarification have left the waters muddied so I still don’t see a meaningful and practical role for drones in reducing ground traffic, or how any such attempt would significantly reduce other infrastructure costs.
I never said I wanted to keep anyone grounded, but as I understand it heavy trucks transporting your TVs, fuel, building materials and other goods account for much of the wear & tear and drones aren’t going to change that.
Not sure drones or some other method of personal transportation is the answer.
To be clear, not advocating cargo, mass or other heavy transportation will be in 3 dimensions.
To be clear I do not have the "answer" but see opportunity in moving off the same plane as others traveling to similar locations.
10 years ago only the military/government had the technology to lift a camera, stabilize it, video/photo/ or otherwise operate it in 4k and live feed the footage to the world. Now anyone with $400 can do it.
In general VTOL systems have been expensive, difficult to operate and comparative unreliable to fixed wing aircraft. Maybe we never get enough thrust vs weight solutions operate a "flying car" but if we did we could reduce the amount of lanes we have to build to accommodate the huge commuter load on our highway systems.
The more we build the more traffic it attracts. New highways attract development, increasing the population density in the area, commuters will always go to the path of least resistance, until they reach equilibrium, within about 8-10 years the "overbuilt" highway is now in the same situation it was prior to its construction.
The I-10 freeway which runs from Florida to South California is the widest freeway in the world in the section running from Katy, TX (a Houston suburb) to downtown Houston, TX, a distance of around 22 miles. The freeway averages 26 lanes, and in some areas (Intersection of 610 loop with I-10) it has 30 lanes total including 6 feeder and 4 HOV lanes. In spite of this, during commute hours it takes more than an hour to get from downtown Houston to Katy, TX
Not sure this thread is better than no web traffic?

Listed in Time magazine’s Top 50 Inventions for 2010, the Martin Jetpack is the world’s first practical jetpack, manufactured by the Martin Aircraft Company. It will be commercially available by 2017.
The Martin Jetpack was initially conceptualised and developed in 1981 by Glenn Martin in Dunedin, New Zealand, resulting in the establishment of the Martin Aircraft Company in 1998. The 200kg jetpack is powered by a V4 two-stroke engine, burning automotive gasoline. The aircraft will have more than 30 minutes flight length, at a maximum speed of 74km/h, achieving a top altitude of 1,000m (3,000ft).
The compact dimensions allow the jetpack to vertically take-off and land (VTOL), and operate in confined spaces that other aircraft simply cannot reach. The Martin Jetpack uses fly-by-wire technology, and a ballistic parachute system for recovery, making it one of the safest jetpacks available.
All you need is a cool $300k or so. Might have to give up SM, maybe sell the boat---oh, I don't own a boat.

Pretty high drift factor, you totally missed the point. I could have thrown A.J. Foyt in the mix who I actually knew from crewing for Jack Bowsher/Ford outlet for USAC for 3 years back in the late 70's, but I didn't. Please carry on with your
