Mostly Redline CV2, although some go for Swepco.

I put Swepco on the left front and Redline on the right front tonight. I'll take them apart after next race, and see if there's any visible difference (besides color). The Redline seems slightly thinner at garage temperature.

I know there's some other greases being used though. My hubs had something bright green in them when I got the car. Any ideas?

Mold? ;)

Good test. You might even consider leaving the test in place until one of the other fails (or you decide to replace it). Not exactly definitive, because there are other forces at work, but it would be a good data point.

The green grease is the stock grease from Mazda. Wanna see CV2 get soft and thin? Wait until your shop hits above 100*..... :king:

I just did an upper ball joint and the tie rod joints and caps and the top of the tube gets a bit runny. Once you get into the tube it seems fine but I should probably move them in the house with the tool batteries and jump box. Took me a season to figure out why the nearly new Dewalt batteries didn't make it through a couple of summers in the Vegas heat.

Keep in mind which corners (of the track) stress your hubs more. I mostly run at a counter-clockwise track, so it isn't a surprise that my right hub tends to give up the ghost long before the left one does.

I spotted that as well, and wonder if Swepco does the same thing -- any idea?

I like the redline... thin is good as long as it protects.. Redline seems to do well. Also good luck with Mobil one synthetic

That's prolly what it was. It wasn't mold or even the stock grease. I just packed a new Timken/NTN one. The stock "grease" is like vaseline, and sparse.

I'll be at Watkins Glen and Lime Rock next, so nearly all the load is on the LF.

An internet search yesterday came up with Neo HP800. Anyone have thoughts on that?

With this overall post I keep thinking about the front wheel hub video that was posted on the previous site several years ago. IIRC they used PM grease.

The search function works well.

The thread, Hubs Mazda VS Blueprinted http://forum.specmia...=1;t=004388;p=0

The hub Video

I didn't remember correctly, the grease was not PM, the deal was REM'ed.

My hubs don't spin as good as the stock one in that video. Not even the brand new one with Swepco in it.

I should get some and put it in the garage. We've got about 3-4 more months of heat from hell.
