What accounts for a 7.5% loss from "non Champs week" numbers? Doesn't look like it's very hot in Lexington, OH today. Just curious...

Looking forward to watching the championship race online tomorrow!

Numbers don't mean anything. Different dynos, etc.. All you can do is compare back to back cars on same dyno.

I can take my car to a dyno and get 128 load it up, made no changes and go to another dyno that will show 121. Don't get caught up in the BS numbers game.

True. Having been on that dyno, 118+ is a very big number for a 1.6, 1.8 or '99 with the current rules.

Thanks Tom, that's what I was wondering. I had no idea what 118.5 hp meant compared to normal bs horsepower numbers that get thrown around here :whistling:

TSOUNIS, is the real deal, no one seems to give him much love.

We raced against him at Mid Oh Nationals about 6 weeks ago and he won both events. Shawn was on his bumper at the finish line at the Sunday race, he runs really strong. The only weak spot in his game is that his car sometimes starts to fade about midway through the race, but he is usually very fast at the beginning.

Good luck to all, wish we were there.

Pat

He Has become one of the best here in the northeast, has great footwork, nice guy. Clean racer. He can be great. He does tend to like the car very loose and slides the crap out of it, which I believe is why you may see him fade towards the end.

If you really want to know how your car stack up, take it to a dyno with some SM data, and/or have your dyno'd the same time as one of the top cars so you can get a baseline.

The key is to use the same dyno to make your changes and look for "better" numbers. (or worse meaning its time for a rebuild)

The Dyno they use at the Championship is the same one that Bennett was getting 122-123 on a 1.6, consistently, so why now are the numbers so low now. Just curious :noidea:

If it's the same Dyno as last year I believe I made the highest numbers with 116. I forgot the torque. 1.6 FTW!

I think Udell is keeping his spot as the video proves he was next to Jr and got squeezed. You should have seen Jr try and keep a 350z from passing him on the outside at practice on wed. The guy went in the grass as Jr came over, ran over the cones, destroyed his front splitter, and came back on the track smoking!

I watched it from the end of the backstretch. Udell tried a video game pass - Too far back, too late, and no chance of even making the corner. Ernie and Hille got the short end of that stick. I wouldn't want to be Udell tomorrow in the race. I predict some rough stuff throughout the field.

Warm up will be wet. Race will be dry and cold. Plan accordingly, especially if you have a heat sensitive 1.6.

For those of you asking about tech, I and 3 others spent 3hs in the tech barn, left rear shock, restrictor and ECU. What a PITA. All were legal.

.

Yes - and that car blew 113 at champs week, with the tire trick. So call it 116. The other podium cars were similar.
