No test day Ken, nothing on the cal speed site and there usually is nothing associated with cal club. Last year they did 2 or 3 extra sessions on Friday. That was an option on Motorsportreg though.

I'm not aware of any test days for this race. However, Speedventures is hosting two HPDE track days the weekend prior (Jan 11&12) but I'm guessing that doesn't help you.

The track GM told me there would not be a practice day FYI. Now if we could just get Charlie to repost his pole lap, we would have a learning tool ( that might get me a top 10!).

Can we avoid the E coast man drama please;)

I'm hoping to be there as a spectator on Saturday. Should be a great race!

As always, it will be hard to not pick the locals. Given history, Elliot Skeer has to be even money with Tyler Vance near by.

 

I see Ken Sutherland has broken ranks and is driving a 2000! Pushing Matt Shultz(2013 NASA Champ!) in his early car punching a big hole might be a good combination.

 

Mark Drennans early 1.8 was untouchable at the end of last season. My guess is he and Brian Ghidinelli will dance and be a major force.

 

There you have it...my top 6!

 

Wild cards...Charlie Hayes(if his car is ready!), Joey Jordan, Steven Powers(Never seen drive but aware he has good results), Kyle Kaiser(Rookie in SM but has already proven to be fast...but his aggression may have to be checked at the door in this crowd)

 

I will be helping Rusty Dees and Barrett Tilley...both very fast in region! Learning curve will be steep in this tough crowd...they may surprise some. My Dark horses!

 

Be heading out tomorrow...looking forward to something new and exciting! First time in 5 yrs I've had to tow more than 120 miles

Tough crowd. A top 10 finish in this field will be an accomplishment. Looks like the weather won't be a factor this year unlike some others so we should see some good W2W racing. Best of luck to all!

Clement Lee will always be a contender, especially at Fontana.

 

Seems like there will be a lot of the guys that were at Miller last September for NASA Champs.

 

Will start heading to Fontana in about 4 hours.

Fire about 30 miles away to the west of the track.

 

Should be burning away from the track with what I would guess are winds blowing west normally.
