With 8 of 9 found non compliant. It would seem that all the front runners were on even terms with respect to engine performance. I would like to know from those in the know what advantage does modifying the front side radius provides? Does anyone think they would of won had engines been all identical? Clarify the rule going forward and move on.
NV Racer, ask yourself this - do you think they would have risked getting caught if they didn't think it provided a material advantage? Why would they do it, risk their reputation and everything they have worked so hard on if they didn't think it was a material advantage. You bet your a** its a material advantage. And when they claim they didn't know, or it was an accident, ask yourself how it is that something like 7 out of 9 were DQ'd for the exact same issue. Not an accident. Oh and if the "clarification" is that everyone gets to modify their heads to be on a level playing field with the people that modified their heads because they were "confused" by the rules, then you will have to pay money to modify your head to be competitive so the "confused" people don't have to buy new heads. Does that make sense to you?

besides the runoffs, how many drivers ran them all season. How many non-runoffs podiums would have changed..

you must know more than the rest of us as I do not understand the scope of what was done or how it really impacted performance. But if one builder is doing it then they all will start doing it and this may include most of the pro motors out there.
This is a question while we all wait and speculate.
What if many motor builders interpreted the rules the same way and there are hundreds of heads out there that will no longer fly tech.
What is the fix? This is in large part a 99 head problem as there are many more 99 pro motors than any other i would guess.
So if the prior interpretation of the rule is ruled non compliant then what?
Where do we get enough heads to make the motors compliant.
how many motor builders were following the same process.
I do not know but if its significant then what is next for the class.
If this is a wide spread interpretation of the rule that they deem non compliant, don't be to shocked if they modify the rule.
Who is going to the ARRC with out pulling a head?

Handing out the DQs this year and legalizing it for next year is certainly an option. No idea if it's the best option.

I don't care for that solution as it forces those that have been compliant to make a modification to close the performance gap with those that have not been compliant.
Not gonna happen on this one... time to get drastic again. The sky is not falling but it's time to take all the money out of the drivetrain.I don't care for that solution as it forces those that have been compliant to make a modification to close the performance gap with those that have not been compliant.
