Setting Diff Backlash and Preload

I bought the tools years ago and never jumped into learning how to Lash a diff and set the preload on the carrier bearings. This is not a full blown rebuild. I did not change the Pinion bearings. I simply swapped out an open diff and put a Torsen unit in it. So I reused the all the bearings and the original ring and pinion.

VVT Completed

I installed the drivetrain. For me doing the motor diff and transmission is pretty straight forward. Once I have the weight in the car, I added my ballast and tightened down the suspension, at the bushings so not to have any bind.

Final Wiring, Air Fuel, Data

The wiring is complete. I was nervous about the electrical since all the wiring had to be swapped. However we installed the motor and it starts. All the wiring and devices are working. (Entry updated)

Suspension Install- Front control arms- offset bushings

Installing the front upper offset bushings, normally requires you to replace the boot around the upper ball-joint as you ruin it in the removal process. I first press in the new bushings. I use the white line bushings and have had good luck with them.

VVT security module, modify heater core box and final dash install

Now that i have the 4 sections of the harness installed in the car. I am ready to install the dash. If your roll cage has a center front bar, you heater core box will not fit under the bar so you will have to modify it. I could not use my old one as it took a hit during my crash so I had to start over.

Wiring is work

I just about have the main Harness out of the car. Sadly the crush damage from the wreck has created a pinch point, so I cannot get the last plug of the harness out. I will have to cut this bar in the cage. I have sold the cage but this should not be deal breaker.
