As soon as the supps were up I sent a printed entry form as well as my check overnight USPS to their post box (cannot Fedex or UPS to post box)

I admit to being late to reading this entire thread. But this is just another cluster F..K by people within SCCA management positions. Whether it is grid at the Sprints, inconsistent tech shed rulings at the Runoffs or this fiasco, the beuracracy of SCCA stands above all else. And every member of management is more worried about protecting their position in the pecking order, than making things right for the paying customers.

This is very simple to solve. Each of the current 204 registered entries needs to be contacted personally by someone in the event management team. Their registration needs to be personally confirmed, any errors corrected (Tracy) and payment made as per event requirements. After that has been accomplished, registration should reopen to new entries in the normal manner. The event is still 2 months away.

As to qualifying:

The track has offered fair pricing on pre-event test days. There is no reason for any official session to be called practice. Grid the cars for the first session based on order of entry (Blake wins). If team mates wish to congregate in the pit lane, that is their choosing.

Each subsequent session to be grided based on the previous qualifying time.

As to the hard limit of 85 cars.

My guess, and this is only a guess, is that this was negotiated with track management as a hard number that no official can change. Just a guess!!!!

Folks, the Chief Steward for this event is Jim Averett. I don't have his contact info. He is the sole abiter of what to do here, per his powers set forth in the GCR. Not the Registrar, not the race chair, not the majors administrators. yes, he is supposed to listen to and accept input from all those others, but he is the decision point.

I'd suggest that he be contacted directly, by phone or email, to express opinions. I'm sure someone who reads this foum has his contact information.

As for qualifying: at this point in the process, only the SOM can change the schedule. Chairman of the SOM is Tom Brown. I suggest he be contacted as well, requesting that the Friday 2nd practice actually be the first qualifying for both races. I would further suggest that they create a system for gridding for this new qual system, so that it isn't a disaster. Random number draw, registration order, it doesn't matter.

I spoke to a few people this AM. Someone from Lonestar is supposed to make an official statement and address all of us who have registered through the link etc. I have no idea what that statement is or when it will be made other than it will be made today. Not sure if will be emailed or posted on their site. That is all I know

I have voiced some concerns over the qualifying format as well, I was given some good advice. Let's get passed the regsitration Snafu forst before we start with the qualifying.

Just talked to Tom Brown. The qualifying order will be green cars with lightning bolts first. Followed by Polacks with hooters and cocks on their car. All others will be detained for 5 minutes.
