The restrictor is the gasket.
Being the words "restrictor plate" are not in the SCCA GCR glossary why don't you write a letter suggesting that a restrictor plate is a gasket.
Thank you for your input.

Yeah, I don't think that's a problem.
The lack of any commentary from most of the top 20 is interesting. Are the rivalries that have been obvious in the past ramped again at the track?

Friday night is gonna be a barn burner!!
Any insight in to whether Carbonell is there to win or to support?
I'm coming down to spectate. From where are the best places for watching the races?
Thanks.

Hey Russ, there are many great places to watch the race from the infield, in fact in most areas you can see the majority of the infield plus a good bit of the banking. Unfortunately there isn't any viewing in the bus stop, but I think the trick will be to get to start / finish towards the end of the race to watch the draft fest sort itself out on the last lap.
It's going to be fun to watch!
End up on top of the garages ?

Last night's Q2 session was one of the most intense "races" that I have ever been in. For some reason we were banging and rubbing, not what you normally see for a qually session, but nevertheless it was loads of fun. Huge smiles all around in impound. Just a blast to be out there under the lights. Was a good indicator of how it will play out on Friday night.
Today's 10 am session was on a really green track so times were just not there. We were fortunate to stay dry all session, and no sooner had we got into impound than the heavens opened.
In terms of man-drama, so far the needle is turned way back from the normal red line and it seems to be all good fun. Lots of "teams" are in the evolution stages as drivers are still figuring out what their best options are. I suspect that the need for a friendly "teammate" is also helping keeping the drama low

So I might not be able to watch the runoffs on Friday, no wifi at Sonoma Raceway still...
Does anyone know if this will be recorded and posted on YouTube or something? I can find 2012-2013 runoffs, but 2014 wasn't posted? Was this because of STR-gate?

I sure hope we can watch it post race, I will also be unable to watch live.

Somebody (not me) because I'll be at work or traveling down to LA again. (why I'm not here on the weekends)
Should do a gopro tripod and record from there laptop.
Not sure if the SCCA will come knocking on your door later and have you arrested but that's another story.

Here are a few laps from under the lights on Tuesday's Q2 session with myself and Jonathan Goring working together. Two things I never anticipated running game under the lights....
1. You have no idea if the headlights in your mirror belong to your mortal enemy about to punt you into the wall, or of your teammate about to push you to the pole.
2. There is very little depth perception relating to the car behind you in your mirrors - tough to see how close they are or how fast they are closing...
